I just called them and talked to one of their "sales" people. The dude sat there and confirmed the price of $133 for the 9700 Pro. Are they on crack or what? Or are they just going to take my money?

I'll keep you posted.
By the way, I ordered one myself.

Just let this one be. I ordered 2. Cruising to the store and asking them is just as bad as calling them up. BTW, AMEX BLUE for me so I won't get screwed if this deal turns sour.

Golden member calling the store to confirm price!?!?! Why!?!?
It's not as if this deal will go through, but the slim chance is getting smaller with every inquiry.

I rang them to confirm the price. They are OOS. I didn't want to tie up my CC for weeks on end waiting for this hole-in-the-wall store to figure out someone hit a wrong key when entering the price.

Draco - Prepare to be ripped a new hole by hordes of angry Ferengi's who think you just ruined the deal for everyone (I personally don't think any of us are going to get it but there's always a chance, so I'll order one using my CitiBank cc with one time use cc).

Did you write down the name of who you spoke with?

I emailed him to let him know. These guys aren't best buy, and I don't think they could afford it even if they wanted to. Don't put a mom and pop out of business for a pricing error. I would be very surprized anyway if ANYONE got their orders honored

Just do what I did and get a modded soft9700!

Naw, didn't get his name. Let's be real here people. How many of these drastic pricing errors have we seen before, and how many of them actually fly? None I've seen. Remember that Best Buy fiasco with the GF4 4600? ugh..

It was definitely a price mistake...although the page still says $133, when I add one to my shopping cart it comes up as $346

You should of just kept it to yourself You know almost anyone who see's this offer is going to try and order at least one, and when the vendor see's dozens, maybe hundreds of orders for the same thing in one day they'll figure it out.

Again: There's a difference between a "hot deal" and a "price mistake." It was obvious from the beginning this was a price mistake. (In case you've been under a rock, 9700 pro cards don't go for half price.) If you really want to take advantage of a price mistake, the absolute last thing you should do is post it on a hot deals bored. Just order yours and cross your fingers.

This is a board to DISCUSS deals. If you don't want anyone researching your deal, then don't post it.

Let's face it, people are not real, they're dreamers. If Buy.com was selling a $2000 Sony VAIO laptop for $200 instead of $2000 here's what REALISTICALLY would happen:

1) After the deal hits AT/FW/TB it would be all over the internet within a matter of minutes.
2) Everyone and their dog (including myself) would order the $200 Sony VAIO laptop HOPING the deal goes through.
3) Now begins the fun. People would speculate non-stop the legality of the price mistake, people would put on their "let's play attorney hats".
4) People would scream DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
5) Of course someone calls CUSTOMER SERVICE then posts about it.
6) After 50 laptops have been ordered Buy.com customer service reps and execs are monitoring the forums having a good laugh that people think they're actually going to get this laptop.
7) The buy.com webmaster is reamed a new ahole and might lose their job.
8) A angry mob of Hot Dealing Ferengi's who are dreamers assuming that all hope is lost because someone called, therefore alerting Buy.com of the price error and ruining their chances of getting a $200 laptop.
9) I'm busting a gut laughing now, someone please continute this for me ...

I thank the original poster for posting. Why do you have to bag on him. Maybe this was a price mistake that had 0% chance of going through, but it always opened up the possibility to PM to Staples or to use AMEX BVG. He was unselfish in his posting, maybe you could learn a thing or two from him!!!

And maybe if you guys didn't order 50 at a time, or call in to check on the deal, some of us could have at least attempted a PM. It's still a long shot, but I've seen plenty of people PM this item at Staples and have it go through. Guess we'll never know.
