for some slim chance, I thought my cards were gonna go through and then I get this e-mail from them:

"Dear Customer,

We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your due to
incorrectly posted price. The item ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb retail
box
advertised for $133 was incorrect. Your order will be voided and your
card
will not be charged. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused. If you have any further inquiries, please feel free to contact
us
at 866-595-4233."

perfect, just perfect. you freakin' clowns who called really know how to fudge things up for everyone. :|

yeah, the orders probably wouldnt have through anyways but them recieving ump-teen calls bringing this deal to their attention didnt help matters any. matter of fact, it probably raised a big, red flag shouting out, "alert, alert! we have clowns calling in and telling us about a deal that seems too good to be true. we better put someone right on it and see whats going on."

wonderful, just wonderful.

*EDIT*

oh, I'm pissed now. I just checked my credit card and them a**holes DID FREAKIN' CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD $711!!!!!!! when they said they didnt. :|

unfreakin' believable!!!!!!!!!!!!

you guys KNEW it was too good to be true. you jumped in knowing that it had a 99% chance of being a price mistake.

so if you got yourself into a hassle....... who is to blame??

i can't believe you guys are pissed about not getting something you had a 1% chance of getting anyway.
anyone who knows how to manage a shop will catch price mistakes quickly.

don't blame the callers, blame yourselves. The callers are smart, because they don't want to get their credit cards into a mess and what not.

Staples wouldn't pricematch this sh*t anyway. NONE of the retail stores pm shady shops like this.

We feel that if they hadn't called, the deal would have lasted a little longer, allowing some of us to PM at Staples. Take a minute to read some of the thread Turbo.

How exactly are you so sure that the phone calls are what tipped them off? YOU are probably who tipped them off! Look at this company's site. They aren't selling $300 video cards every day. If they got even five orders today, that would have been a red flag. The one or two people who called likely had nothing to do with this getting cancelled.

You assume that this is an Amazon-scale operation, where orders just leave the warehouse without anyone looking at the invoice. This is obviously closer to a mom-and-pop operation. I'm sure orders are filled and processed by hand. There was no way this was going to go through -- at least not for more than one person.

But if it's easier to blame someone else than admit your own role, by all means, go for it. Shouldn't you be posting this on the new private KoolKidz forum anyways?

Come on out of the woodwork self righteous ferenghi who make a living fleecing these mistakes
at 100 units a time and then posting 100 on Ebay at over retail cost.

Next thing I expect to see is someone threaten to sue. Then the circle will be complete. LOCK!

Did you write down the name of who you spoke with?

Naw, didn't get his name. Let's be real here people. How many of these drastic pricing errors have we seen before, and how many of them actually fly? None I've seen. Remember that Best Buy fiasco with the GF4 4600? ugh..

Yeah you're right. No one ever really gets any of these deals, do they?
I'm still loving my Ti4600 that I secured from BB B&M for $179, 'cause one person was nice enough to scan a "mispriced" store tag.

True, it wasn't for $129 like on the web, but I'm not complaining.

PMing a site that you know has a price mistake to another store is called fraud.

You know this was a price mistake. I know this was a price mistake. There's no chance in hell of that this price is legit.

Yeah, pathetic and to think that these same pathetic people thought that they could get those HP1210 laptops for $500 (less then half of retail) pathetic, oh hold on I got one of those laptops even though I didn't think it would work. Did you think that those people were idiots too? How about the people that just bought the Dell 8250 idiots?

Those were legit deals and calls were made on them. They were engineered perhaps, but legit. This was a typo and probably drop shipped. The weren't gonna collect less than they had to pay. That would have been a big red flag. But still, they did kill the pm. But, that woudn't have been terribly legit either. So wait for the next one.

I guess that all depends on your definition of "legit" and I doubt that Dell made money on the 8250's for $70. These "idiots" sometimes score and other times they don't, but don't blame them for trying. I went into knowing that it probably wouldn't pan out but sometimes it does.

Just to have someone else quoting you. Since I feel it needs to be said. There IS a difference people, grow up, stop the crying and whining.

Ya know its stuff like this is why I would never consider posting pricing error deals here. More than a few orders in a day will definately mess things up for everyone

Not surprised this thread is going on for this long. Kiddies just don't get it.

1. You are taking a risk with stuff like this, sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. If you can't afford the possibility of it being the regular price, you can blame the company (let's all jump on the "I know a lawyer that's getting right on this bandwagon", cause that happens like 1/100) blame yourself for taking that chance. How many times has a company actually honored their misprice, NOT MANY! It's a chance that most take but few can afford.
2. I guess I am not surprised this thread is still going, question is why? This is not like the Dell 8250, we don't any firmware updates or MIR information. Stop crying! We don't need to know about your specific denial for the price. I should hope that everyone can solve their own problems by now, if not please refer to opening sentence # 2.

I am not saying that we should stop posting deals like this, some can afford the challenge and enjoy it, just make sure they are clearly marked so we don't have this kiddyfest everytime!

Let's face it, people are not real, they're dreamers. If Buy.com was selling a $2000 Sony VAIO laptop for $200 instead of $2000 here's what REALISTICALLY would happen:

1) After the deal hits AT/FW/TB it would be all over the internet within a matter of minutes.
2) Everyone and their dog (including myself) would order the $200 Sony VAIO laptop HOPING the deal goes through.
3) Now begins the fun. People would speculate non-stop the legality of the price mistake, people would put on their "let's play attorney hats".
4) People would scream DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
5) Of course someone calls CUSTOMER SERVICE then posts about it.
6) After 50 laptops have been ordered Buy.com customer service reps and execs are monitoring the forums having a good laugh that people think they're actually going to get this laptop.
7) The buy.com webmaster is reamed a new ahole and might lose their job.
8) A angry mob of Hot Dealing Ferengi's who are dreamers assuming that all hope is lost because someone called, therefore alerting Buy.com of the price error and ruining their chances of getting a $200 laptop.
9) I'm busting a gut laughing now, someone please continute this for me ...

Hehe, you about summed it up to the T.

Oh well, onto the next "deal." I think I'll pick up that Dell 18" Flat Panel to help ease the pain and suffering of another lost deal.
Don't get any ideas about calling Dell either. On second thought, better order quick before everyone starts calling. That's alright, you'll be on hold for a half an hour while I order 50.

Thanks for the deal post. Don't let one bad one ruin it.

10-4 roger that

you guys are welcome, I will post again if I see one. Just hope some people learned something from this. If so I still call it a good deal.

Maybe you should learn from this, be real.
