yeah, my subscriber account ran up, and I haven't had the money to renew yet. The ATi ads on the left look horrible (in the forums).

All's good now, thanks

I understand the point, that being that they are GOING to be IN YOUR FACE but sheesh.
Those kind of adds really only end up doing one thing, pissing people off.
Is this done purposely?

I would certainly think it was on purpose. It would seem to me to be the next evolution of strategy from the Ad companies as most people have some form of pop-up blocking and have learned to tune out the "normal" ads.
It's kind of like how the grocery store rotates their shelves around so you HAVE to browse the stocked shelves in order to find what you're looking for. For some reason I find this to be much more offensive though.

No, what I mean is:
Is this done by Anandtech knowing that the banner size will change the forum, but still continuing to do so, cause we dont pay? OR, its an honest mistake or a mistake by the ad company like the pop up ads.
most likely not done on purpose.

You don't think that it might be a way to "encourage" more users to become subscribers?

Fusetalk may be reading the size specs from the ad company's server, so I wouldn't blame Anand right away. However, I'd like to know if there's any way to get Mozilla to ignore IFRAMEs; the regular ads I can put up with, but these flash ads are just rediculous. I thought that was an IE-only thing, anyway.Originally posted by: BingBongWongFooey

sure seems that fusetalk know's its supposed to be 600 px tall, so it cant just be that they slipped in some rogue 600px tall images.
