Here's a new one:
I've had an ATI AIW Radeon for about 2 years and many driver/software updates. While anyone with this or an ATI card knows drivers have been a real problem. I've experienced my share of problems relating to new drivers/MMC software etc. This one I can't figure out.
I'm currently using MMC 8.1 with 6343 drivers. Everything seemed to working fine until last night when I scheduled some overnight recording using GuidePlus. When I checked the computer for the files this morning, I couldn't find them. I figured the scheduler must have crashed. Then I noticed on Norton System doctor that there was over 10GB missing from one of my HD's. Obviously the shows must have recorded. I searched the entire system and turned up nothing. Then I went into My Computer and manually checked the files. The folder named ATI MMC (which just contains the MMC program) was showing 12.5GB! The files must be here. I open the folder, and nothing is there except the MMC software.
The file shows 12.5GB, but I can't 'see' where all these files are and searching through XP turns up nothing. Has anyone ever had a similar situation? I've tried everything I know including making sure there weren't any hidden subfolders. I've successfully recorded manually and time shifted with this driver/MMC version. This is the first time I tried using Guide Plus with these drivers/MMC, so it must have something to do with it.
ATI has been an up down affair, but this has got me stumped. Before I try and delete the folder to get my HD space back, any clues on what to do to try and 'retreive' these mystery files?:Q
