ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV $144 @ CC After BB PM & MIR

*YMMV but here's what I did last night

$249 Circuit City price
-55 PM with BestBuy + 10%
<U> -50 Mail-In-Rebate</U>
$144 Final

Goto BestBuy site and printout their ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV which is $199 (but only online*).
Take printout to Circuit City and have them PM at 110% of difference. (I know they are supposed to verify the item is in-stock locally, but the local BestBuy rarely answers their phone so they hate calling and will likely be satisfied with the printout.)

Now I just need to figure out how to capture high quality video of Travel Sick, Insomniac, & Sealab 2021

How did you get the local store to do the PM?

I purchased this card for $250 about 2 weeks ago when it first appeared with the rebate. Almost immediately after, Walmartonline offered it for $214. When I went back to the store to ask for the PM, the store manager declined, saying that after the rebate was applied, CC's price was lower.

Not satisfied, I called CC's 800 number customer support. After spending about 1/2 hour the phone, the CSR was unable to do anything alone but wanted to conference the local store manager. I had to return to work so was promised a call back. Two hours later, no call back so tried to reach the same CSR twice, leaving voice mails. No response the next day, left another voice mail. The next day, I called asking for a manager/supervisor. Was forced to back through the same CSR.

Although she was apologetic for not returning the calls, the final result was there would not PM the Walmart price because after CC's rebate, they would be lower. I gave up.

Wasn't until after the call did I think through the counter arguement, namely, what if the roles were reversed, CC's listed price was lower but the Walmart was offering the rebate. I'm sure the CC position would have been completely different. As you can tell, pretty disgusted with CC.

It really depends where you do the pricematch.

I have pricematched lots of stuff at CC and had no problem.

Even when they called and varfied the price and the item was no longer in stock they gave me the pm + 10%.

The question now is, is the price at BB local or website only?

From my experience, CC hasn't been very PM-friendly. But your luck can totally change with a nice CSR or someone who doesn't care about PMing some other retailer. Some people have had better luck at it than I, but I've generally given up trying to PM at CC.

I got this card a week ago from a Newegg deal. Only thing I forget to lookup was that this card is clocked at 230/190, instead of the regular 8500's which are at 275/275. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the card.

I would love to get this product, but I can not find if this would work fine with Directv.

I wonder is this thing is capable of taking over the channels, channel guide, etc.

I don't want to have my directv tunner (sattelite box) connected to the All-in-wonder and find out that I cannot proggram this thing to record a show.

Any idea in how it works with directv?

u should just return it and buy it again.

or

go to a diff circuit city and tell them you never sent in the rebate. u know? what happens if the person doesnt send in a rebate. if it were an instant rebate, then sure, no PM would be fine. but its not.

So, buy the new one, and take it back with the old receipt.

Last month CC has the ATI 8500DV for $249. I PM'd it to Walmart for $214. Then I sent in both rebates. Thus, $114.

Scored one @$144 AR. CC manager was cool with the PM. Thanks for the deal!

Glad Amazon took forever (> a week still hasn't shipped) to ship my 7500AIW. Otherwise, if it had already shipped, I wouldn't have bothered. But when I saw this deal, I decided it's worth a shot, and canceled my 7500AIW order at Amazon.

CC managers are way cooler than BB managers/CSRs on PM. BB's PM is a joke. BB CSRs always try every their best to talk their way out of it.

Well $250 at CC -$100 in rebates= $150 - PM to online store for $192= $92 - 2 * whatever Circuit City drops the price in 2 and a half months

Which they very well may when the rebate ends. Alot of the time companies put rebates on instead of dropping the price.. Then they drop the price, as you can see BB has it for $199.99 CC might too very soon.

I got the same story...after rebate, CC price would be lower than Walmart price. Pure and simple, BS. I'm just going to use my Amex and BVG, but still...their policy says nothing about rebates or coupons. Completely ridiculous. I'll probably try again at a different store, and tell them that I threw away the box and UPC, and that I did not send in the rebate. They'd have to give me another box or they'd have to give me the PM.

You can try and PM against Walmart.com. This is a lower price.

Sal: It is a manufacturers rebate, but it is only issued by qualifying retailers. I've only seen CompUSA and Circuit City with the rebate.
