ATI and dual DVI?

I have seen a few 9600's with dual DVI. All things considered why has this not been done on other ATI products and why hasn't it been done on the X800's? I realize the demand for DVI is low, I would be surprised with LCD's with DVi held a 25% marketshare but with the ease of dongle usage and with ATI's "High Defintion" gaming wouldn't dual DVi make more sense. If for no other reason ans a marketing sceme to more equally compete with the Gefore6 series?

Oh, in fact the Radeon CHIPS all* can do that - complaints to the CARD makers, please. (Making the 2nd channel a DVI involves an inexpensive companion chip, a so called TMDS transmitter.)

The reason why so few cards have it probably is the display market - way too much analog stuff still on the shelves, with most people using just one single display. So it still makes a lot of sense to make the graphics cards such that the user can plug his VGA or DVI display directly.

(*) The 7200 can't, because it's a single-output chip anyway.

I was somewhat disappointed that my All-in-Wonder 9600XT only comes with analog connectors. It supports dual monitors with two plugs on a dongle, but neither are DVI. My older Radeon 8500DV had a single DVI connector.

Then again, I'm not a big gamer., I just wanted the all-inclusive card for video capture. The new AIW also does FM radio (but who cares about the radio anyway?).

They literally just can't fit two full video outputs and the TV tuner onto a single card; the AIW cards thus far have been limited to either DVI/VGA + TV-out or dual VGA. I'm not sure if they'll somehow manage a dual-DVI on the X800-series AIWs (I'm not seeing how they'd fit it, unless they hook up the second DVI out -- or the video in -- via a PCI bracket or something along those lines).
