and im sorry if i am being annoying i just dont want to receive all these parts and not have them work

Haha, I'm never angry.

There is no dual core 3700+, it's only a single-core San Diego. The lowest dual core Athlon 64 X2 is the 3800+ I believe. Anyway, good motherboard.

It's supposed to give a reference on how it stands compared to an Intel processor... say 3700+ is equivalent to a 3.7ghz P4 processor, etc. Don't know how accurate it really is, though.

Are you joking with us?

Where did you hear that ATi was more reliable and longer lasting? Have you been paying attention to too many ATi powerpoints?

The 648mb GPU is not a gaming card. It's actually pretty old.

nVidia doesn't make their own chips? Well, that's fair. But ATi doesn't either since niether company owns a fab. ATi DOES put together their own boards - don't mix up the terms. IMO, HIS usually has a better package than ATi, so board partners aren't exactly a bad thing.

I have some advice for you, Vinny. I do not think you're ready to build a new computer. You need to do some more research, and at the very least put a plan together and have someone on these boards pick it apart piece by piece. </really mean>

EDIT: Oops, beat me to it.

You can get a 7800GT for less than a XL and it will out perform it. XFX, EVGA, BFG are some good companies to look into

I changed it a little

Why did you replace the GTO2 with the GS? An unlocked GTO2 will wipe the floor with the GS

Because stock it does not beat a GS. You may or may not get a good overclock, you may or may not unlock it. GTO2 has no SM3.0 support, No FP16 HDR support and No Purevideo.

That's 5 reasons why I replaced the GTO2. Not too mention they fall in and out of stock like a GTX512.

Actually, it's almost guaranteed to unlock/overclock.

But what it doesn't support is HDR in Far Cry, and SM3, which may be important to some people (like me).

Actually its a 100% success rate and that means 16 pixel pipelines.

Although, personally I would get a 6800GS cause I hate ATi drivers and especially in linux (well and the fact that the 6800GS can overclock like crazy, if it couldn't overclock the way it can then I'd rather get the X800GTO2).

Small correction, over 80% of BBA cards are actually made by sapphire, not ATi.

Heres a guy that gets a nice overclock with his GS getting a 3dmark05 score of nearly 6000. You also have to factor in that the 6800GS has sm 3.0 and will look a lot better in games.

we had like 10 connect3d gto sold here ina last month, and the worst overclock was 520/540 which is around 6350 in 2005...some people broke 7000 mark so you tell me which is the better choice
