He's right, there's no control panel anymore. However, ATI Tray Tools is an awesome alternative. I may use it again if I can successfully switch to it with crossfire still enabled.

Get Driver Cleaner Pro 1.5, go in Safe Mode, clean "ATI" in the drop down box. Reboot in Normal Mode, install Catalyst 6.4, reboot again, and voila.

I just did that from 6.3, and my BF 2 starts, and plays perfectly well.

I spoke too soon. I thought I was fine but my system kept on crashing again when starting BF2(only program). Reinstalled BF2 - no go. Finally, reinstalled the 6.3's and first time running BF2 - no issues. What a waste of 6 hours trying to troubleshoot the issue to come to the conclusion that the 6.4's are not for me.

6.4's work fine for me in BF2, and the few other games Ive played X1900's in CF, A8R-MVP.

I had some weird artifacting after the windows loading screen with the 6.4s with my x1900xtx.

6.4's have been causing occasional BSOD's with my X1900XTX in Oblivian... switched to to Omega 6.3's and no more problems.

So did I but everything would go fine after that. And after downloading the Chuck Patch over the 6.4's I didn't have the screen anymore - weird.


My 3DMark06 score jumped about 100 points with 6.4 so I'm happy
