What was wrong with FEAR? i was playing First Encounter with NP, i thought .. and the built-in bench was OK on Cat 8.8

I can't say for clock control as I've just used CCC instead for overdrive, but RivaTuner is doing a grand job of giving me control back over my fan speed.

Sapphire 4850, Vista x64, Catalyst 8.9 and RivaTuner 2.11.

My 4850 crashes once i enter a 3d app with the 8.9 drivers. I tried clean installing, but that made no difference. Back to 8.8 for me, im running vista 64 btw.

Anti-aliasing was often not being applied through CCC in either expansion pack.

Installed them this morning, no problems noted yet, though I haven't taken them through many titles yet.

I've now had about 7 crashes with Catalyst 8.9.

Sometimes recovers and says "Display driver atikmdag stopped working", sometimes the whole system freezes up. Happening in Crysis, Crysis: Warhead, Halo 2 PC, F.E.A.R: Extraction Point, and occasionally in TF2. Idle temps are 43C and load 56C so it's not crashing out due to overheating.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hey guys, just registered here.

I read some people were having issues with their fan speed profiles.
I too had this problem.

The fix was to go into the Catalyst Control Center, and click the lock icon in the ATi Overdrive section.
Your profiles should now work again!


And so far, I haven't had any crash issues with Crysis Warhead.
