At this rate a 9800GT will be faster than a 4870 with the performance gains nvidia gets with its driver updates. I'm seriously thinking about selling my Ati card and going back to nvidia, something like a nice 9800GT or GTX just based on drivers alone....

No no no. What I'm saying is, at this rate the way nvidia's drivers offer 20% improvement in most games in each release, that pretty soon the 9800GT will catch up to the performance of the 4870 just based on driver improvements alone. Personally I have no problems with them either. Installed them and all my games run fine. I'm just tired of seeing and hearing from nvidia users how their drivers (single gpu) are getting like 20% improvements in alot of games new and old, and with Ati its like 5% I wish Ati had some big bang drivers like nvidia. Too Ati drivers have been nothing but duds.
Same problem. It used center timing on some of the resolutions with Win 7 64-bit. There is a way to fix it though.Originally posted by: thilan29
Monitor scaling has not worked for 9.1 and doesn't work in these 9.2 drivers in Win7 64-bit.

What you need to do is run regedit.
Goto HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{C5DD2FDA-E45D-4C8A-A17A-ABB8E7FA7E97}\0000
{C5DD2FDA-E45D-4C8A-A17A-ABB8E7FA7E97} - might be different, but you'll know you got the right one once you enter the 0000 folder and see ATI referenced.
Now once your in the right folder goto the following DWORDs and remove the resolutions your having problems with scaling.
DALNonStandardModesBCD1
DALNonStandardModesBCD2
DALNonStandardModesBCD3
DALNonStandardModesBCD4
example - 16 80 10 50 00 00 00 60
Once you've removed those entries restart and install PowerStrip. Use PowerStrip to make custom resolutions for the resolutions you've removed. Restart again and you should be good.

Thanks. I'm using the paid version of objectdock, but the free once should work just a good. The dock I used is based of the black leopard theme with a slight change to the color and alpha.Originally posted by: Modular

That desktop is awesome. How'd you get the Apple toolbar at the bottom?

Do you guys uninstall the previous Catalyst drivers before installing the latest release? Or do you just install right over the old version?

Gave these a try last night... hardware acceleration for VC-1 and H.264 still seems broken in media player classic HC for me. It last worked in 8.12. This time instead of rolling back I just disabled it in Mplayer. Seems like it's not worth the effort as my cpu is capable enough anyway.
This is on an HD 4670, win xp 32 with dual monitors over dvi (actually 2nd is a tv on a dvi-hdmi cable if that makes any difference).
Also, there seems to be some confusion in windows over what color profile is applied to each monitor - it doesn't seem to allow a different one on each. I still need to figure that one out, but my x1950pro was working there...
