ATI CCC:host process has stopped working

so yeah out of the blue this started happening tonight. worked fine for months and now suddenly it wont. its says crossfire is enabled in gpu-z just not sure that is correct. I tried un-installing and re-installling 10-4 and it gives the same error. tried the "restart runtime" same error. im pulling my hair out here! my setup is 2Xhd4890, i7-860 P55 ftw 4GB ddr3 2133mhz G.skill corsair 950TX watercooled wun7 ultimate X64 retail. tried googling the most I could find were 4 year old threads with no answers whatsoever!. plz someone help this is driving me nuts!

tried running it as administrator=same error!
only thing I havent done is re format at this point.

Download latest ATI drivers, Crap Cleaner, and Driver Sweeper.
Install Crap Cleaner and Driver Sweeper.
Reboot Into Safe Mode.
Uninstall old ATI drivers.
Run Driver Sweeper, with ATI selected.
Reboot Normally
Run Crap Cleaners Registry cleaner with and remove all entries related to the ATI drivers (or all of them if you'd like; usually doesn't hurt any thing), Repeat this step until all ATI related entries are gone.
Reboot.
Install latest drivers

Problem Fixed?
If not, just the basic driver set without CCC.

install is only a month old so I never set a restore point :banghead:

Download latest ATI drivers, Crap Cleaner, and Driver Sweeper.
Install Crap Cleaner and Driver Sweeper.
Reboot Into Safe Mode.
Uninstall old ATI drivers.
Run Driver Sweeper, with ATI selected.
Reboot Normally
Run Crap Cleaners Registry cleaner with and remove all entries related to the ATI drivers (or all of them if you'd like; usually doesn't hurt any thing), Repeat this step until all ATI related entries are gone.
Reboot.
Install latest drivers

Test each card individually. See what pops up in kombustor or furmark. Switch the cards location.

they both work, individually and together. restarted after switching them both out and crossfire works again but still no catalyst controll center. I guess I dont need it but it would be nice to know why it suddenly stopped working, in 3 years of running crossfire I have never had this problem ever.

Do you have an antivirus? Tons of bad shit on the internet now.
I just reformatted an old laptop and tried surfing the net for a bit and got a virus that installed itself through a browser vulnerability.

CCC is depent on .NET. Is .NET functioning correctly. You can install the latest dotnet.

You're fine. Everything looks valid and ok to me. If you think an *.exe is suspectable, search it in google.

Props for using Hijackthis, and the log doesn't contain any personal information, only a list on what programs you have running.

no virus my antivirus turns up nothing. ill chec the .net but it makes no sense to be that because it was working to begin with and just randomly stopped.

I downloaded the .net verification tool and it is verified working. so thats out.

Weird then, only thing I can possibly think of is that perhaps you changed something recently; program or AV update doesn't get along with CCC.

screw it, I dont need ccc as long as crossfire stays enabled im happy.
