I guess not to shocking given the problems this year. Whether his direction actually had much to do with them, who knows?

Perhaps a "For the good of the company" type move? I suppose it's possible he "wants to spend more time with the family", but I'm guessing he'll turn up elsewhere.

If he's going to be convicted of insider trading, distance from the company is needed.

So there are reasons it could be good news for ATI.

I don't think presenting a slideshow by ATI bashing NVIDIA is a way to develop credibility in refuting Rollo's (millionth) sly ATI bashing. I wish Rollo would focus on being pro NVIDIA and less on anti-ATI because it gets old and is an open invitation for conflict but I digress. When the 580 comes out in January/February timeframe (if it does for that is still speculation) we will see who has the performance crown. As of right now, NVIDIA has the crown (albeit a very expensive crown). Full discloure (I own a 7800GTX and ATI stock, LOL)

Edit: I bought the stock at around 10.50 so before bashing my horrid choice Rollo just be aware of ATI's stock right now

there is insider trading alleged pretty much every time stock does poorly. i wouldn't put much stock in it, myself.

He's been cleared of any wrong doing for his 1st inside trading charge 3 of so years ago. Unsure what is going on on the 2nd inside trading charge where Orton is also named.

Ho isn't a big deal but ATi is really in trouble...nVidia is walking all over them. The 7800GTX 512MB is the most dominant card out there this holiday season...period.

Ever since Orton arrived at ATi he has effectively been head honcho, regardless of actual titles.

If you look at ATi prior to the artx aquisition, they were a much more honest and pleasant company - as incompetent as all hell, yes, but at least they were pleasant.

The shitslinging started with Orton's arrival.
