Making a projector from an old 13" IBM LCD (well, it's done actually) and I've run into a little snag....it's not really well suited for a projector setup and I'm stuck with about 1" of circuitry around the edges. I've tried to solder extensions to the connectors I'm dealing with, but it looks impossible.
Not a problem really, I just need to NOT display anything in that area. It DOES become and issue when trying to do full-screen stuff (like TV input or a Media player and such).
SO.....
I need recomendations on software solutions to manually adjust the display area. The LCD panel won't let me shrink the display area below a certain ammount, so I need a software program that'll fool windows into thinking that the outer half inch or so isn't there.
The ATI control panel doesn't work for shrinking an image like it would on a CRT, it gets all confused for a bit and eventually just expands the image it's given too fill out the whole screen.
I need something that'll somehow convince Windows to just not display in the outer areas and shrink the desktop too fit.
Thanks!
