You can turn a 9500 into one of these with a drop of solder, no need to overpay! (granted you don't get the dual DVI, but it's just as good)

The 8500 can be done without soldering IIRC, you just modify a firegl bios to 8500 clock speeds and flash it. Not a hard task Of course it makes a FireGL Something or another, it's an 8500 equivalent model (there are FireGL models to match most cards)

Yes it is, and this one if i remember is based on the ATI 9700 Pro. FireGL has been aroud for a while now if you have not noticed. They have been producing workstation cards for a long while.


$419 is about how much they are going for today everywhere else and even less on ebay.
