ATI has screwed me BIG TIME!

I sent in my retail Radeon 8500 (275/275) in for a rma as in didn't work in 3d games. 12 days later I received a Radeon 8500LE (225/225)! I am so mad I can't stand it. What should I do? I also don't want to pay for shipping AGAIN for them being shady.

call them, hopefully you have your receipt for the retail-explain what happened and that you received an LE instead of a retail-and MAKE them send you a retail before you send back your LE (make them pay shipping too).

check to see how well of an overclock you get with the LE first... if you get like 300/300 with no artifacts, just keep it

otherwise, raise hell

tell them you want a 9600 for waisting your time. or rather ask very nicely if they would consider doing such a thing but at least get a proper 8500 out of them.

I'd just call them up, tell them the story, and see what they say before you get all angry.

yup, u should be calm. no threats. but show your knowledge of the law. And ask for a better model/and or compensation of shipping.

Well thanks for the advice. I talked to a RMA manager and he gave me their fedex number to ship it back to them. He apologized and was pretty cool. For the inconvenice though, I overnighted it to Canada from Arizona. Its gonna cost them almost $40.00 in shipping, but that is what they get. hehe

they should have UPS pick it up at your DOOR.. and cross ship immediately.. that's what gainward did when they sent me a DOA geforce3 replacement...

I know you can't buy them any-more..

they should have at least given you a 9100 or something.

A 9100 is worse than a 8500 retail. THat would make me even more mad I should have made them cross ship, I just didn't think about it.
