ATI hires HRC PR Firm

I dislike viral marketing, and will make an effort to avoid companies who use it, buying from their competitors.

On the merits of the cards, I was leaning towards ATI - but when I saw this thread, my reaction was, an nVidia will do just fine.

Then I saw posts referring to nVidia having done the same damn thing.

I guess all I can do now is to delay purchases and send notes directly to each company why.

they weren't recruited to go to forums and post pro-nv crap; they were recruited because they were active in forums and had an interest in hardware.

nothing more wrong with aeg than a forum itself; there will always be certain ppl who are extremists in their bias and abuse forums.

Actually I'm thinking that AEG had to refine their hiring practices after Rollo managed to get booted from not 1 but 2 major forums (AT & [ H ] ).

Having your "viral" marketers polarize and piss off half the user base (forums) and end up banned doesn't really help you gain marketshare.

I mean this isn't an election folks. NV and ATI are not shooting for 50.1 % of the market.

I firmly believe what finally got him banned from here was his denial, i.e. lying, about being an AEG member. Up until that point, while he had been the most NV biased member in the forums he had always backed his spin up with articles from around the net. It wasn't until the AEG thing broke that he started out right lying.

Hehe, speaking of Rollo, I was just watching the Discovery Channel on TV and a program about crab fishing had a boat called the ROLLO in it. Hahahaha, and it apparently TROLLS for crab and Cod and other fish and apparently fanATIcs...although I've never eaten that kind of fish before.

Hehe, I guess all Rollos troll. And yes I was bored and the ROLLO boat really does exist.

Hrm...always thought the verb was the same as the noun. Though looking at the dictionary, trawl also seems to work as a verb and a noun. Just interesting that troll is used in the same way. Learn something new every day.
