If you notice, Joker isn't even on the page at the time you made that remark. Where in Zues's buthole did that come from? Yeah Topweasel, you have really got to get some facts straight. I don't want to seem like BFG's Robin character, but he has always provided help on both ends and even backed himself up with corporate evidence (Nvidia driver release notes, nHancer capabilites--remember that Gstandfor--and all the like). I have yet to see him blatantly say "I love Nvidia" or "I love ATI". Put your pistol back in its holster and quit shooting "fanboy" like you've got parkinson's disease.

Maybe that is what made you think I was ("am") a fanATIc in your eyes. But dam, I'm sick of looking on these Anandtech Video forums and seeing nothing but aimless "fanboy" accusations. I bought the X1900XTX because I wanted to see how it would compare. I did so because I quite honestly didn't trust anyone on the web to tell me truthfully. I sold one 7800GT to a friend, and gave one to my brother, the cards that I used to have and respected. God forbid anyone has ever gotten rid of older hardware. Sorry beggerking, it wont happen again.

Right now, a lot of people are having such heated debates because the competition between the graphics throne is like a tag team match for female mud wrestling. Nvidia is the best!, then ATI comes up with something (in this case, the X1 series), then Nvidia is the best again (probably the Quad-SLI capability--yeah, that would be nice if G80's could be x4!), then ATI will probably come up with something. It is a constant non-monopoly which is what it should be. There are no "Kings" as some would blindly say, and there really are not as many fanboys as people think there are. Kind of like diagnosing imaginative children with A.D.D. Of course they're not concentrating on what you want them to, they're 8! Once again, I'll state it clearly:

1) People who are happy with their product are NOT fanboys.

2) People who bash the opposing product, while pointing out flaws that are shared with their own products ARE a fanboys.

3) People who speculate or give opinions about what "the other side" is like, without saying or making it knowledgeable that they are speculating or opinionating ARE fanboys.

I'm not going to add to the pointing fingers group, but I will say that so far I've only seen one fanATIc and one Nvidiot fanboy in these forums. (Sorry I missed the Rollo days and I barely got a glimpse of the FallenAngel nights). The rest, is just aimless accusations that always seemed to end up in pages worth of nothing but flames.

Sorry if I've offended you Topweasel when I disagreed with you, or Gstandfor when I mentioned your name in that and even when disagreeing with your methods of using the nHancer AA+HDR circus, or CaiNaM when you were arguing with Joker, etc. Truth is, when I've needed help with things, I've never received a negative feedback of PM's from many supposed Nvidiots and fanATIc's. Some just know what they're talking about a little more than others.

This is amusing. I wasn't even around when Rollo was here, thus wasn't even here for the AEG witchunt where I supposedly caused you so much damage. And you want me to apologize? For what? Not being there?

And when did I say I was supporting Joker? Never. The most I've done is support BFG when I thought, and I wasn't alone on this, Topweasel labeled him as a fanATIc. Once Topweasel clarified what he meant, I didn't comment any further.

I don't approve of Joker on the basis of this: 5150Joker calling for the ban of AEG members Now there are some important things to consider here.

1. Rollo confessed to being AEG.
2. It is true that most threads involving Rollo resulted in flame wars that pretty much didn't help the forum.

Now the only difference I see between this HRC thing and AEG is that people confesed with the AEG thing. I don't think banning rollo has had much effect here in video. we still get trolls and flame wars. I have witnessed it on both sides from both you beggerkind and 5150Joker. Like I have said before instead of pointing fingers at each other and trying to get this person banned, or this person to say sorry to us, or conduct a witchhunt, we should make it known to these companies that we do not appreciate being marketed at like this.

And because of this belief of mine I find it unsettling that 5150Joker has lost some of his gall. His calling of the ban was (I belive) not only because it was Rollo, whom he hated so much, but because this was a business practise that he found repulsive. If that is the case, and who am I to put words in 5150Joker's mouth, but if that is the case then why can't we have a preemptive course of action on this. Why do we have to wait untill someone is as bad as Rollo was said to be, before we do something about it? Why do something at all to the person they hire? They will just find another one. Most people on this forum if offered free or discounted video cards would jump right on that deal. You have to go to the source of the problem not just it's symptoms.

Anyway that is how I feel about it.

What I find amusing is Beggerking trying to act like a victim here. Go back to the first 14 or so pages of this thread and what you will see is beggerking mentioning me in just about every single one of his posts. What most of these rabid nVidia supporters are upset about is the fact that I started a thread in FI to get Rollo banned (who I was friends with at the time) because I felt shills had no place here. My position since then hasn't changed nor will it ever change regardless of who it may be. In fact, beggerking, accusing people of being shills like you are doing is basis for a permanent ban according to the mods - the fact you have accused me of being a shill repeatedly in this thread in hopes of inciting inflammatory responses is proof of this fact.

The funny thing is, despite the AEG fiasco, I still talk to Rollo via PM on another forum and expressed my regret that the AEG issue caused a rift in our friendship at the time. That said, I'll reiterate once again that my position on this issue will never change, shills should be banned from these forums regardless of whether they work for nVidia or ATi. If we discover someone here being an ATi shill, I'll help in getting him/her removed from here.

Many nVidia zealots here have an axe to grind with me and other ATi fans simply because this place used to be dominated by their biased way of thinking. Now that they have equally zealous fans from the other camp countering their FUD, they take issue with it - that's simply a balance. Does advertising ATi cards in my sig make me a shill? If you have one iota of intelligence, the obvious answer should be a resounding no since a viral marketer would never expose himself like that. What it does demonstrate is that by simply posting great ATi deals in my sig, it annoyed the hell out of nVidia zealots who can't stand to see anything pro-ATi, even if it's in the best interest of consumers.

DeathReborn: After I created some modded bios files (Dell doesn't allow overclocks via the nV panel), another guy got his 7900 Go GS to around 480/1150 and ~7500 3dmark05 points so the card is only 1000 pts shy of the much more expensive 7900 go gtx found in $3500 XPS M1710 systems. So I'd say it's got a hell of a lot of potential despite being a 20 pp/7 vs card. I'm having quite a bit of fun with it - it just sucks that I have had to put in for 3 RMA's for my LCD panel due to various issues.

I seem to remember alot of baseless acusation flying around during the AEG days. I didn't see the mods come in and ban eveyone that accused someone of being a shill.

Now that they have equally zealous fans from the other camp countering their FUD, they take issue with it - that's simply a balance.

I didn't think these forums where a place to balance ''an axis of evil' , rather I thought it ws to bring something of use to the forum. i.e. video card specs, overclocking news, drivers, questions. Furthermore I always beleived that it was Rollo's trolling and flaming that everyone wanted him banned for. The AEG was just the straw that broke the camels back. Now that you admit to being equaliy zealous as the other camp spreading FUD. Is it hard to understand why alot of users don't like your presence here?

Well, I think it more fair to say that Rollo chose to disrupt whatever forums he frequented. I highly doubt AEG/NVIDIA endorse or promote Rollo's posting style (especially considering he just got banned at last week by Kyle himself).
