nVIDIA. I just have a huge respect to them as a company. Never owned their products, though.
Me too! I've thought they were the shiznit for over 2 years now but have yet to own their product. Probably because, pathetically, I've not bought a new vid card since April '99. Curse me
I like the nvidia stuff cause I get good performance and price (when it is just slightly getting old, after a few months and the $600 prices come down to affordable). I also have had less problems in with them then my roomie had with his Radeon line. And I think the world would be worse off if Nvidia was the only one making cards. I heard a lot of good stuff about ATI and them being there, keeps Nvidia on their toes and the prices down.
I agree Nvidia is a pretty impressive company. I would never want to see ATi die, however, because I think competition keeps Nvidia on its toes (and vice-versa).
Since I sit here with an ATi Radeon LE in my box, I'm gonna be biased and say ATi...they are awesome, 'cuz they inadvertently gave me the BEST value in video cards ever, bar none. Everytime I think of what I have (in my sig) versus what I paid for it ($50 ), I shed tears of joy...and then I play CS. Too bad their drivers suck like a ghey vacuum...
I wish ATI would get their act together on driver writing. Their problems with drivers have been keeping me from buy ATI video cards.
ATI is essential to the video card industry, with 3DFX gone, they are Nvidia's only competition. Have yet to see a monopoly that doesn't abuse everyone.
ATI. I sit here with a GF 2 pro in my box and I'm perfectly happy with it, but that's only because I replaced the stock cooling with a blorb. Before that I couldn't play a single game without tons of lockups, the card just ran too hot or the heatsink was crappy (leadtek bigass heatsink). ATI products have better image quality and I think they are just better all around, despite the fact they are slightly slower (all in wonder is sooo sweet).
I've only owned 3dfx and ATi so I really can't say about nVidia. I like the 2D on the Radeon series better than the GeForce, which is the most important thing for me.
