ATI Owners: Please Read.

I just got my ATI TV Wonder today. Not only was it caked with dust, the tv tuner itself was rusting. However, it still worked, to my amazement. The worst part I guess is that the drivers are not accessible through the disc. The disc not only has a bajillion scratches, but a crater that'd make the acne craters of your old science teacher look wimpy in comparison.

What can I do? ATI is making me wait 3-4 weeks for a CD, and ugh...Don't ever buy used!

Are you sure its going to take them 3-4 weeks to get you the disk? Just last week I requested a new driver disk for my Radeon and I got it about 7 days later.

well that's what the site says for the ATI TV WONDER PCI. OH well...I got it to work anyhoo...it's still in horrible shape though...I'm tempted to give the dude bad feedback:|

And you can download the beta multimedia center from their site, works for Win2k and worked decently for Win9x, though some features aren't implemented yet.

Yea I bought it off the FS/T board...if I keep getting stuff in as bad shape as this did, I might just stop trading on those boards. I've never seen so much krusty dust, and...RUST! Gosh darnit...there was so much rust on it covering the entire TV Tuner. I also didn't get the cables that are needed for the card. I'd just be a hypocrite if I said I would never do such a thing. However, it only took two days to get it to the person when I forgot the SLI and pass through cable for a V2 trade.

I'll take a picture of it when I can. Where can I get those beta drivers? Link?

Well, it doesn't take much to clean a card... i just removed an old TNT2 from one of my older box, and it was caked with dust too. Took out a can of air, and 10secs later, it was almost brand spanking new. As for the rust, WTF?

I don't think you understand the dust I saw...dust is usually a light film on my stuffs...this stuff was brown and CRUSTY. The Rust...well I dunno. The dude I bought it from is a good guy though. It works...and that's what I wanted it to do. Does anyone know how I can convert AVI's to MPEG's?

Sorry to hear about that SuperGroove. It's easy to get burned when you buy used computer parts. It's happened to all of us. But like you said, atleast it does still work. I have no idea how that guy could have gotten it all rusty though. That's weird.

You are suppose to be able to capture directly to MPEG. But there are programs that do that sort of thing, just have to find it, maybe Adobe Premier?
