ATI Radeon 7000, XP drivers?

Every driver I try for my crappy powered by ATI RADEON 7000 64M DDR AGP screws up my computer, I even had to reinstall windows XP once. Can anyone set me on the right path to get this thing to work? Windows does not give me the right driver automatically. I can't afford a new card right now, Thanks!

I used the drivers from here: http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/powered.html
I installed the drivers and it told me to restart. I did not install the control panel because the drivers told me to restart. I also tried the official drivers before that. This is what I downloaded:

CATALYST RADEON 3.5 (7.90) Display Drivers - English/French/German / 24 Languages
ATI Control Panels 6.14.10.5014 - English/French/German / 24 Languages

I dont know what the cat 3.8 is.

I used the driver cleaner and the 3.8 drivers and when my computer restarts after installing the drivers I get a blue screen of "stop error" telling me that the file ati2dvag might be the problem in an infinite loop. Any ideas for what is next?
