Which card do you own?
1. Radeon 32MB SDR
2. Radeon 32MB DDR
3. Radeon 64MB DDR
4. All In Wonder Radeon 32MB DDR

If you don't own #4 then do you own another TV/Capture card?

I own an ATI All-in-wonder *RADEON card.. unfortunally I run it with a Celeron 400mhz CPU... It requires a PIII CPU to have high quality captures.
Im upgrading soon

I'm sorry about the poll and the double post. I have never done a poll before this one, and I kinda messed it up. BTW most of you guys got a standard Radeon. Not what I was expecting... I thought most of the people who got the Radeon wanted it for all the nifty features that the AIW had. If you just wanted a high proformance gaming card, why not get a GeForce2?

well in my situation the gf2 was more money than the radeon 32ddr, and I cannot justify spending over 150 for any single computer component that will be outdated in a matter of weeks if it isnt allready by the ime I buy it (with cdrw's, printers, an monitors being the exception sine even if they are "outdated" they are still ok)

and the radeon looked like a sweet card, may not be as fast as the gf2 but supposedly the image quality is better and it has more innovative technology along with support for directx 8

I had a budget of 150, so it was either the radeon or a gf2 mx, and I wanted to be somewhat high tech which in my mind means at least 32 bit color at 1024x 768, support for newer technology (dx8) and a cool fan on the heatsink (yeah it is silly reasoning but man I like video cards with little fans on them, this is my first to come with one stock and next I will be buying the kt7 and an athlon 700 just for the fan on the chipset and the performance boost )

I am very happy with my radeon, it is much better than my v3 2000 and I think I made the right choice in comparison to the gf2 mx by hercules

Howmuch is Geforce2 GTS again? well i dont have that much money for a video card, so i just got Radeon for $150. at the time it was radeon or geforce MX, so i just got this, as it shown that on higher resolution or higher poly count, mx dies quite fast thus it wont last as long as Radeon for future games. if i need vivo and TV thing ill just get those $50 tv cards.

svt I was in the same boat, in fact I remember talking to you about how we are in the same situation as far as system config since I also have a 450a celeron

I have a rule that I will never spend more than 150 on a single internal component, partially causse I know my budget but also because I work in the industry and I know how much of a waste it can be to be buying top of the line. 600, 500, 300, and even 250 is an absolute waste of money in my mind for a video card

I'm very impressed with my Radeon 32MB DDR. I've had both a 3D Prophet II MX and this Radeon at the same time (not running at the same time, of course) and the Radeon is a lot better, in my opinion.

bozak, i bet there are many others too with cel 450a. damn, if i may say this.. it's the best deal i've ever had so far!. at the time when i purchased it, it was like $65 and at the time it was top of the line (at 450). and it's still running all the games! im quite pleased. but we both know that upgrade is in order soon as they are making those DDR boards. im planning to get cel 600 or 633 soon, it'll make my system last longer. (p.s. good thing i bought BH6, otherwise it would not be possible to last this long).

damn, one question tho, someone wants to trade Radeon for a CL Gefroce2 64mb. should i do it? i mean that's supposed to be much more expansive so if i do it i can try the speed of Geforce2 and if i dont like it i can just sell it and buy another Radeon. (hmmm wonder if all those 32mb DDr boards are gone alredy)

yeah I am kind of wondering if I made the "right" choice with the radeon, however I still have a few weeks to send it back.

Too many bad reports about drivers and stuff, and so far I have seen a few glitches but nothing major.

DVD playback is awesome and q3 looks excellent, I am pleased just don't want to get stuck with something that will not be supported

"The 2D quality is much better than any GF2 cards. "?

Have you owned a geforce2gts? have you tried any and all geforce2 cards?

ok then.

Well I've owned three: Asus, Creative and Leadtek and the Radeon IS much superior in 2D. Haven't tried 'em all, but tried a lot.

32DDR. BTW, it is working under win95B, as some were wondering. (altho only with the 3056 drivers: the included drivers resulted in a windows protection error) Haven't put it to the paces yet tho.
