The card I received looked like it was brand new and a three year warranty is better than the standard one year for a retail boxed card.

Here is a link to the ATI Store for reference. They still have x800 pros for $199. The new 5% off coupon code is 1439.

Retail boxed ATI cards come with a 3 year.

Going one step further, an XL probably isn't generally 30% faster (see the same THG benchmarks) than the ~$200 X800P that jevans linked. I've also seen a used 6800GT for $230, a good deal provided you buy from a trusted source, and probably 15% faster, on average, than a X80P.

I'm just not sure I'd recommend spending over $300 on SM2 tech this close to ATI's SM3 lineup and nV's top-to-bottom second-gen SM3 lineup. It's even harder to see how a $350 X850XT is a good deal when compared to a faster, more fully-featured (SM3), and comparably-priced (~$390) 7800 GT. Admittedly, the 7800s are PCIe and you're looking for AGP, but I still think it's a valid comparison in terms of performance.

So I'd recommend the cheaper X800 XL or Pro, and you can use that $100-150 you saved for a faster, SM3 card in 6-12 months.

Dunno about Thermaltake PSUs. 18A on the 12V rail seems a little weak for a PCIe-specced PSU, considering the http://www.antec.com/specs/true330_spe.html]Antec TruePower 330[/url]'s 22A 12V rail, but it'll probably be more than sufficient for your PC. The Tt's push-pull dual 80mm fans and minimal vents looks to be a good airflow design--better than the Antec TP330's perpendicular fans, in any case. (I found the TP330 didn't evacuate hot air from my case very well, as it had too many vents and the more powerful 92mm fan likely pushed the hot air from the CPU back into the case via those vents faster than the 80mm fan could expel it. The TP330 raised my case and CPU temps by a few degrees over my single-fan SmartPower 300.)

What PSU do you currently have? You sure you need a new one?

 QFT.

That thing is also backordered for a long time. You just wasted a lot of money on next day shipping.

As for the difference there is a HUGE difference, performance delta isn't that large though. The Pro is missing 4 Pixel Pipelines, and is clocked lower.

Not bad at all. Let us know how you like it. The X800P used the least power from the high-end cards in its generation, so you may even be able to try it before your new PSU arrives, assuming you have a quality 300W one now.

Yeah, the XT is a noticable step up from the Pro, but the Pro is still a good card. Look through the TomsHardware benchmarks I linked to see how they compare. The X850XT is equivalent to an X800XTPE, IIRC, so about 5-10% faster than a X800XT.

Lol lol lol lol lol, i spend 350 on my X850XT because I can, and the top of the line AGP card atm. Remember, at the title of the post, x850XT AGP ~ no PCI-E. If it was pci-e, I would prefer 7800 series.

Get, it's a good card. As for PSU, my advice, DO NOT get anything lower than 450W. I blew three (yes, 3!) 400W PSUs on my OC'd winchester + X800XT! The 500W I have now works like a charm, plus it's cheap ($50)! Dual blue LEDs, fan speed controller, 34A 12V+ rail!!! This baby rocks.

Dont get a Rosewill PSU! Just get a good solid 400 Watt PSU, no more is needed. Seasonic S12 is an excellent unit i would highly recommend it.

value for the $$$$$ go with the x800xtpe if you can find if you have access to the orb check my results in the Intel P4 3.4 X850 I am fourth overall using a x800xtpe .the 3 x850's with better scores are all running higher clocked GPU'S than mine. look for intelia once you get to that catagory. You willsee the x800xtpe is pretty strong. I believe my score with the x800xtpe is 6341 not sure but I believe thats correct 3Dmark05

THe only way you should buy an X800XTPE is if you go to ATI's site and find it not on back order anylonger and still the same price. Other than that they usually hover around 320 at which point you might as well get a 7800GT.

Intelia, you are not 4 overall on any list, especially (no offense towards intel) with a 3.2Ghz intel processor and a single X800XT video card.

i am published right now @ 3.4 all drivers . I am 4 on that list. I can go publish my 3.2 I am tied for 1st at pure stock but my cpu score is hirer. If you want me to publish I well . I can only publish 1 score. AT 3.3 I am 1st at 3.4 I am 4th but first with a x800xt pe. now you go look at 3.4 all drivers intel . come back i well publish my 3.3 score. than go look come back and i well publish my 3.2 pure stock scores . you have to search with all drivers not the approved drivers I am also 1st at 3.5 and 3.6 The orb has also put me in the X850 catagory as there was no competion for me in the x800xtpe catagory. but on a compare you can plainly see i am running a x800xt pe

You can blurt out all that stuff all you want. People have those XTPE's and what not hooked up to water cooling, phase change, liquid hydrogen and are OCing. Even at stock speeds, the A64's will wipe the Pentium away with gaming. Not to mention you do know that 3dMark means absolutely nothing. WHen you can begin PLAYING 3DMark then we will talk.

Stop trying to impress anyone. If you haven't noticed there is a thread wanting you banned again. Instead of blurting out a whole mess of crap i would tone it down a bit lest the mods get tired of hearing all the complaints against you and simply ban you.

The man asked about a x850 I just told him the x800xtpe was a good value. And I am proud of the work my husband does on PC'S.

Ok here is a good idea. Shut up about your husband! No one here knows him or cares to know him especially since he was banned for trolling amongst other things IIRC.

There's a reason your 500W PSU costs as much as a quality 300W one. And that reason was conveniently demonstrated three (yes, 3!) times in your own home.

Seriously, the wattage claimed by a PSU (quality or not) is not necessarily what it's designed to deliver consistently, or even in accordance to standard specs (see this 450W CoolerMaster "ATX 2.0" PSU, which appears to be well-made but somewhat optimistically named/rated). Rosewill is a relatively new brand as well as NewEgg's house brand, AFAIK, and their PSUs appear to be priced pretty low. Altogether, that doesn't spell quality to me, at least not on a par with the more trusted, well-reviewed brands (Antec, Enermax, Fortron/Sparkle, OCZ, PCP&C, Seasonic, etc.). You really don't want to skimp on the PSU, as a faulty one can damage some or all of your system. And a quality PSU usually can be carried over to newer systems (provided it has the appropriate connectors).
