I'll never buy another ati card. They have shot themselves in the foot. Because of poorly supported drivers people will stop buying their cards. Mine will not work under xp. This forum and others are full of unhappy people. It's a shame because it worked so good under win98se.

My Radeon works perfectly fine under Windows XP, so maybe the problem sits between the computer and the chair? I'm just tired of people who wanna build a computer, and then blame a company, if the computer doesn't work. Building computer isn't like building a puzzle.

Which ati card are you talkin about? And ATI's drivers do suck, but I'm happy with my radeon.

They did maybe in the past, but I had absolutely no problem with my recently purchased Radeon 32MB DDR under Windows XP. If there were flaws in the past, and are corrected now, why bother?

Perhaps you should ask for help before dimissing the card so quickly? What kind of troubleshooting procedures have you followed?

My Radeon 32DDR works perfectly in Win XP.

Like ndee said,it's probably user error.

My 64 vivo worked with XP out of the box, and with the newest drivers it works well with everthing including gaming. Not sure what you are doing wrong, but with XP, the radeon is a champ.

My All In Wonder Radeon works well, the only beef I have is they havent released drivers for the original Radeon's (read: not 8500) for quite a darn while. It kind of dissapoints me as I am having some glitches in Win 98 and XP.

I've been using my LE for about six months and I've absolutely loved it until the unified drivers came out. Now Empire Earth gets plenty of graphics corruption, Civ3 won't display properly, I get 40fps in counterstrike no matter what maxfpx I set the game to and Max Payne quits out every 10 minutes with some weird buffer error. I've tried the Omega and Uriel beta drivers but I'm still getting a bunch of errors. Needless to say, I can't wait until Matrox comes out with their new gamer's card.

I too am fed up with their driver support, I recently got an ATI TV Wonder and I'm running Windows XP, I'm sorry, but when a company renames the files of a Windows 2000 driver and releases it July 2001 for XP, there's just something wrong. Not to mention a really ineffiecient method of correcting the problem,

See Here

They honestly expect me to change colour depth EVERY time I want to switch on the Tuner, now if it wasn't for DScaler, I don't know what I would have done.

uh... let off some steam there, I'm not trying to start any arguments, but just channeling all my frustration into the keyboard

drivers are fine......sure there are some problems ....but if you can't get the card to work at all in XP...then the user is the problem.

ATI has had poor driver support practically from the beginning and they came out in 1985. Doesn't look like they're slowing down either.

Please explain your problem first.

they suck total ass :|

i got a tv wonder VE, worked in 1 computer out of 4 (now 4, was 3). lock ups as soon as the software loads. i called ATI about it, talked to this really nice guy actually, and he said they are aware of the problem, but have no solution at this time. something wrong with the media player part of the software. :|

This reminds me of when my friend bought a radeon LE. He was putting it in an older computer that ran with windows 95, and there were no drivers that supported the card. We fixed that by getting win98.

I personally like how the guy posts once and never checks back...

My friend has a Radeon 8500...and sure it gives him problems occasionally that's just a heat issue and watercooling will solve that...I think ATI is just fine...

There are some OEM Radeon cards , sold as ATI, but actually 3rd party, that are not recognized by ATI Win2000 or XP drivers. They have no brand, no website, no specific support. If you try to use an ATI driver, it does not recognize it. It might as well be a Savage 3d card to the ATI driver. They seem to be OK with ATI drivers in Win98. The surprise comes when moving the card to an XP system and installing the full XP driver.

This situation is in addition to the normal driver teething problems we hear a lot about.

Does anyone have a right to be vexed with ATI for allowing such a shoddy second tier situation? I would say yes.
