ATI TV Wonder Elite will not post

ATI TV Wonder Elite - tried every PCI slot on MOBO. Machine will not post. All of the lights come on, etc. but nothing. Specs Listed below:

GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 Nforce4
LEADTEK GF PX6800TDH-256M RT
AMD 64 |3200+ ATHLON 64 939
1GB|PC3200 MUSHKIN RT
XP Pro SP2
DVD+/-RW 16X SONY DW-D26A
160GB WD 7200 WD1600JD 8MB

Any ideas? Does a PCI card not work with a PCI-X card?

PCI card not working with a PCI-X card? PCI, PCI-X and PCIe are all incompatible. You cannot put a PCI card in any PCIe slot or PCI-X slot.

Only thing I can think off right now is motherboard bios, up to date? If not, sounds like the Wonder is DOA.

ATI PCI card is in a PCI slot and PCI-X card is in PCI-X slot. According book this should work...I will test in another PC.

I assume you mean your 16x PCIe LeadTek card. PCI-X slots are longer, run at 100MHz and have a data path of 64-bit. PCI-X slots are generally only found only on server motherboards.

In any case your problem is probably not the TV Wonder Elite, it is probably your Gigabyte motherboard. When the TV wonder Elite came out four months ago I tried it in the Gigabyte MB you have. The TV Wonder Elite would not post with that motherboard regardless of what I did. I currently use the same TV wonder Elite card with another motherboard and it works fine. I also tested it with another nForce4 board and the TV Wonder Elite also worked fine. Try updating the BIOS of your Gigabyte motherboard. If your computer still will not POST with the TV wonder Elite, you have two options, replace the motherboard with one from a different manufacturer or replace the TV Wonder Elite.

gotta love that. I updated to latest BIOS and still nothing. I did submit a ticket with ATI. Maybe I should send something to Gigiabyte or Nvidia also. I wonder if it is that chipset?

Nah, it is just that motherboard, the TV wonder elite works fine on the other nForce4 motherboard I tried, an Asus AN8-SLI Deluxe.

I have a asus k8n-e delux win 2k and cannot get the software fully installed
nothing ws offered to sense what channels are open... not any thing like th console in the ati aiw 9700 pro card's TV software. so weird. The CD it camew with only works on XP for win2k I had to go toATI and download 3 files, installed all 3 i the sequence they lited them and nothing nothing nothing showing....

I called ATI they say only XP is supported and win2k will not work
