ATi TV Wonder

Hey, I've got a question about my ATi TV Wonder VE. I've had the thing for almost two years now, but I just recently decided that I wanted to have my Gamecube hooked up to it rather than the TV that has terrible sound. Well, the TV Wonder VE only has composite and coax inputs, so I hooked the Gamecube up with coax. Turned everything on and it worked with no problems. Little while later, I tried it again, worked with no problems. I go and try to use it again today and I get scrambled video. Sound is fine, video is scrambled, like I'm trying to watch a TV channel that I don't get. I try it a few more times and it works. Okay, fine. I try it again later: same thing. It doesn't work, then it does.

Well, I've been trying it again for the past few hours and this time it won't work. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the scrambled video? The sound is just fine, so I don't think the problem is with the connection anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bad coax cable maybe? Is it possible that the cable is pulling out of one of the coax connectors and you are therefore getting lousy signal?

Go to Radio Shack and find a coax to rca adapter or try a different coax cable.

Try changing your color settings from 32bit to 16bit. Right click on the desktop, settings tab.
This is a problem with the ATI TV Wonder that I have and plenty of other people. ATI's drivers are crap. But doing this will usually fix it until it gets scrambled again

I dont know, i have ATI TV wonder also and have used it for a year on my old computer without a single problem. I try to install it into my new computer and i get the same problem you are having. I had to turn it on and off for 15 min to get it to show regular tv, normally id get scrambled screne and sound. After a couple of days of messing with it i said screw it and reinstalled in on my old computer and it was fine. My old computer was Win ME and new is Win XP so thats where i figure the problem is. Overall I think its sort of a flaky tv tuner but what do you expect for $29.

Just letting you guys know...the garbled video XP problem isn't a driver problem, it's the ATi TV Tuner Software. Try different software like ShowShifter (www.showshifter.com) or WinDVR (www.intervideo.com). I'm using ShowShifter and haven't had garbled video at all.
