I was playing around with a new install of XP (original) and my ATI Radeon 8500 AIW TV feature. Something happened that a TV on Demand temp file exists somewhere. I found a place to click. When I do so, that box wants to save some 2+ hours of digital video into MP3 video. It reserves some 153,000 K on the hard drive and then starts converting whatever it has into a MP3 file. Needless to say, a file that big is going to hiccup before it gets saved.
For some reason, the Video Record did not take, so recording from the TV screen is the only option. One way is TV-on-Demand. I have turned off the computer (cold boot) and turned it back on. The temp file is still on the hard drive somewhere, but I have not found it. I do not know how some monster that big can hide, but it did.
Does anybody know what the temp TV-on Demand file is called?
WHERE is it located. I want to kill it and start over.
Rebuilt system:
Gigabyte G8-PE800 Ultra
P4 2.66 533 512 HT=no
XP-original upgraded by Internet to SP2
Original drivers - ATI Radeon 8500 AIW connected to local cable TV channels 4-70.
The Video record feature failed to load or operate as a separate software, but Video on demand appears to function. I just need to learn how to tame it.
The instant record works fine.
