Maybe this is a sign that the ATi DX10 are coming out soon?

I'm kinda torn on this, on one hand my pci-e 7300 isn't really cutting it anymore, especially since its pushing a 22" LCD. But none of my other machiens are full height pci-e, so the 7300 can't be reused and I know those damn dx10 cards will be avaible a week after I buy a new dx9.

Are you running a C2D processor? How's the rest of your rig? Given those information, I can tell your or not if its a wise choice to upgrade right now to this card, which will blow your 7300 out of the water.

Here is a comparison of the two cards:

If you're already running a Core 2 Duo or high AM2 rig with at least 2Gb of ram, then you're probably better off waiting for a DX10 card. Otherwise, it's better to invest into this card and upgrade other components if you're looking into gaming. Processors are actually pretty important in future games, especially since a lot of them are now multi-core friendly.

But really nice price.

Nope, 480 is plenty, we run an X1950XT w/ an FSP 450W no problem.

My concern w/ power consumption isn't the power consumption itself, I just want my PSU quiet. =) More drain = faster fan = more noise at idle.

Maybe I'll pick one up and see what it does in terms of general browsing. Obviously, for games, noise isn't a problem.

Well I pulled the trigger It is very fast for its price. The rev 2 is supposed to work the ram faster..so less draw on the card...less drain on the power source.

I bought this USED all in wonder x1900 on ebay, and the red color wont resolve(aka work). Same drivers. My hopes are to re-install widows using this card. slip in the AIW, and hope it works. that would be a bonus

looking 4 a good deal on a fast AGP card

But seriously, its a good price for its price. I mean performance. Its like an oxymoron...like bad_luck

Question: Will the "SAPPHIRE 100189L Radeon X1900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 VIVO HDCP Video Card - Retail" fit in a PCie X16 slot even though the adjacent PCie X1 stot is already occupied on my motherboard?

The reason I am asking is that many video cards on the market are too wide and occupy the real estate of more than the width of one card slot.

Can this run BF2 at full settings on a 4300 w/ Gigabite 965? Resolution would be .. whatever a 19" monitor's highest resolution is normally..

Yeah, the rev 1's core is clocked faster, the memory is slower, overall the rev 1 is slightly faster at stock (maybe 5%), and i think it overclocks better; the core almost always will, since the whole reason they came out with rev 2 is because they couldnt get a lot of them to hit 575mhz. Mine hits like...lemme think...~620 core, 710~720 mem at stock volts, and i've had it at like 675/750 when i change the voltage. That's another thing, I believe I read somewhere that you can't change the voltage of the rev 2's in atitool. Also, from what I've read, there's absolutely no chance you'll be able to unlock the locked pipes on the rev 2's because they're laser cut, but some of the rev 1's (not many...not mine ) are capable of being unlocked.

I hope that clears up a few things.

Oh, and

that's a better deal right now anyway.
