ATI x800XT and x800PRO Question

Last night i ordered ATI x800PRO for 217 with NEXT day shipping

well my question is How diffrant is the PRO from the XT?? should i cancel my order and buy XT??? or the pro is a good card?

would i notice big diffrance in games ?

Im running a 3.2 ghz pentium 4 with an x800xt and it does wonders. I can play BF2 at 1600 by 1200 2x aa with 35-45 fps, hl2 and css with 4xaa and 16xaf flawlessly, image qaulity is great with the xt. On the other hand, it depends on what res youre gaming at. If youre going 1280 by whatever, then a pro would probably be the right choice for you. 1600 by 1200 though, the xt. The pro has 12 pipelines and lower clock on the core and memory speeds. All I can say though, is I wo uld recomend the xt over the pro, it does outperform it by a bit, depending on who you ask.

Yeah, basicallly it depends on what res you're gaming on and what IQ settings you want. However, you're forgetting a card: the X800XL. It has a lower clock than the XT and the Pro, but it is able to beat the pro because it has 16 pixel pipes, like the XT. It fits in between the X800XT and X800Pro price-wise and performance-wise. I'd recomend that card, it is probably the best card on the market for the money.

Maybe you can call them up and get them to price-match themselves Even if you're stuck with it, a x800 pro for $217 is not a bad deal.

The x800xl's are great, too. I was looking for a good deal on one of those about a month ago, but the prices were too high for me. I think the cheapest now for an XL is around $240.

How about ATI x800 pro vs EVGA 6800gt??? bigg diffrance?

Oh yes, but the x800xt can be comparable to the 6800gt, therefore what i said before goes, depends on the reso you play at, 1600 by 1200 with some eye candy turned on, the 6800gt will kill the x800 pro in terms of performance.

Cross your fingers and hope they send you a ViVo version. You can attempt a BIOS mod to get 16 pipes and maybe overclock it a bit too. Here are some 3D mark 03 links for comparison. These are different cards in the same two rigs ( ATI & NVidia ).

There are only five slots available for past benchmarks, so my stock x800 pro ViVo scored 10230 and 11030 after modding to 16 pipes. The clocks were the same at 475 / 445.

If it were a vivo there will be a yellow plug underneath the molex connector input.

it says "Shipped 1 RADEON X800PRO AGP 256M V/VO/D REFURB (SKU# 2700726)"

do ya think "V/VO/D " is ViVo???

My guess is it means "VGA/Video Out/DVI", meaning that no, it is not a VIVO. They would probably say it was a VIVO if it was one. Sorry. :thumbsdown:
