Worse than the 7800 GTX but not garbage. Nothing with this much engineering put into it should ever be labeled garbage.

Well, anyone who says it's garbage has to be a severe Nvidia fanboy, so I guess that number will tell us something.

I just want angle-independent AF, I have been bitching about Nvidia dropping the feature for years so I am happy to see that I can finally get a new card that at least approaches the AF quality of my old Geforce3. So yeah, I want one now, but I'll probably hold off until I find a really good deal on one before I actually buy anything.

Slightly worse than 7800GTX. May have a small performance advantage in D3D, but that balances out with NV's OGL dominance, and price and availability tip it in NVs favor.

Most intelligent statement I've heard. 90nm is too small. Then putting 321 Millions transistors in it. Jeez.

Its slightly better but not worth it. Just imagine how much more its going to cost than a gtx in what 2 months from now, for slightly better performance. And we havent even seen them head to head with the forceware 80 drivers yet(although I believe its only going to benifit dual core owners). And the 7800GT is overall better than the X1800XL from what Ive seen and thats all I need.

personally, i'd rather have 24 pipes over 16 when next gen games use them more...or, at least i heard the 7800gtx will be better when that happens...i dunno
