Actually they are predicting this will be a hard-launch, and they will perform better than the 512mb GTX by a wide margin.

Well if that's the case, then nVIDIA did the same with 7800GTX 512. Besides what does your post contribute to the thread? Nothing but alchohol barf.

Anyways, If they would just release the Asus P4RD1-MX Radeon Xpress 200 for skt 478, it would make it a whole lot easier for me (and alot of other older intel owners) to purchase a card just like this. I don't know what they are waiting for. Currently it is listed on ZipZoomFly's site as 'backordered'. I really think ATI will start to blow some doors off with this refresh, and that's good for us consumers.

I think we're all entitled to our opinions.

Time will tell if this will be a paper or phantom launch, no way to guess now.

My personal guess is that it will not be; I think ATI has probably (or should have) learned their lesson about such things by now.

For my part, I'm interested in this part and the G71, although I'm sort of at a point where there isn't much more my pc can give me for gaming. I'm limited to 19X14@76Hz, and I can already play 99% of my games at that setting with some AA/AF.

Unreal3/UT2007 will probably drive SLI/Crossfire sales of this gen for me.

i agree although its hard to speculate by how much it will beat the 512gtx. then again, thats pretty much moot as the 512gtx is basically unavailable. (last i checked anyway)

I definitely agree with you there Rollo. There is no reason at all for ATi to announce a card prior to nvidia's G71 (Which will 99% sure be hard launched) without a hard launch. They would be shooting themselves in the foot.

the title needs to have ****OFFICIAL**** and ****CONFIRMED**** in it.



i don't understand what clock speed this thing is supposed to be at. in the title it says 695. in the article it says 650.

for an english site they can't use the language worth a damn, i'll tell you that much.
