idiots...they were losing more muscle and water than fat..thats why they were still flabby

Huh? Water, maybe. Muscle? No. Where in the heck to you pull that out of?

Actually, the danger could be acidosis for those who do not read the book, gout, and much higher bad fat intake, along with vitamin deficiency.

I did lose a lot of muscle when I was on it. I couldn't lift heavy anymore because the simple carbs that your muscles depend on for energy isn't there anymore.

Good for them, the diet was unhealthy and idiots pretended to follow it without even understanding what those evil "carb" thingies were.

Heh, i had freinds picking tomatos off of Whoppers. Stupid diet.

Tomatos are allowed on a Atkins diet, thus it would be your friends who are stupid. Also, it appears many people don't understand what Chapter 11 protection is about. Filing Chapter 11 does not necessarily mean a company is going out of business.

Not much to say, you're just wrong.

Vegetation is simply saying that his diet includes eating whatever he wants. The "scam" diets he's referring to are any diets that have as a goal losing weight without exercise. Crystal and Mazer seem to agree with me.

Of course, Atkins isn't a "scam" diet, although arguably unhealthy for other reasons. Atkins recommended exercise. The scam diets were all the low-carb diets that individuals concocted for themselves--which involved sitting on their asses eating bacon.

If you do some searches you will find plenty examples of my poor debating skills. Not here though.

Lol, I'm just wrong? Just wrong by stating that Atkins is not a "Scam" diet but is abused/misused by most people on it? I think if you followed it you would find that it works well IF actually done correctly. My parents did it and lost a decent amount of weight and are still healthy.

My entire argument against you (if you can still follow it as it is becoming muddled the farther we go along) was that Vegatation DID state that atkins was a scam in his post and that Fritzo was saying it wasn't, you said Fritzo had no idea what he was talking about and that Vegatation did not call it a scam blah blah.

Read the whole thread then get back to me. I am tired of scrolling up and down just to justify a comment I made about your lack of comprehension.

Face it- most people in the world are stupid. Am I the only one who actually bought and read the book cover to cover? It says right in there that eating bacon and hamburgers all day isn't healthy.
You are not the only one here that owns and read the book. Infact I own a copy wrote in 96 and 03. I perfer the latter one and I enjoy one of the cookbooks too.

The diet has worked for me and I continue to keep the weight off. At my last physical my doctor said I was in great shape and to keep doing what I have been.

Gotcha. Yes, burning off what you eat is the simplest way to do it but diet plans give people with to little discipline a way to loose or maintain wait. I can't keep up my riding on a daily basis (I ride once or tiwce a week) so I eat a healthier lunch. That allows me to maintain wait instead of becoming a blimp (though my 6' 185 is a bit big). Thats my "diet" and it works. These programs are just structered diets and probably work well IF you do what you are supposed to. I don't think they are all scams.

You think 6' 185 lbs is a bit big? That's still pretty thin I think. I weigh about 183 and I'm only 5'10, and I'm pretty thin.

well, The only reason I think it's a bit big are these dumb love handles I have. I could be 6' 185 and be in great shape if alot of that weight was muscle but that is sadly not the case. I'm not a fatty and look reasonable good normally but as soon as I am in my swim trunks you can see the fatty handles on the sides. Really annoying...

So a reduced calorie diet is a "scam" diet? If a fat person loses weight by curbing their food intake that's a scam?

Hell yeah, the lazy bastards.

That isn't what Vegetation said. Of course, as you said, this has become convoluted. I've started inserting my own opinions on the diet (and diets in general) where I should have been simply attacking Fritzo's logic.
