I liked Fogo de Chao. Pretty nice cuts of meat, and they come to you! It's like a mobile meat buffet that comes to your table.

Yes, that is what I like about them. Does anyone know the price of Fogo de Chao though? I am thinking it is somewhere from $50 - $80 per person...I am not worried or anything about the price, I would just like to know

The Cheesecake Factory and Dante's is definitely another choice, I will have to see tomorrow where she would like to go. I think she might actually enjoy Dante's.

I went to the one at The Summit and didn't think it was that long of a wait.

I like Fellini's Pizza in Atlanta.

The girl I am taking LOVES Taco Bell Thanks for that list EtOH, that will be useful. I will make sure to take all of these in to consideration. Everything sounds pretty cool. I really would want her to decide, so will be asking her.

the rotating place on top of the hotel (for some reason the name escapes me).

There are at least two hotels in downtown with rotating restaraunts. I beleive the Westin is the tallest.

the Varsity was definetly worth going to, but not for the taste of the food.

The varsity is fun the first two or three times. However, when you live right across the interstate from it and eat there a billion times it loses its appeal. GT alum representing.

My wife and I are BIG time food snobs (not $ but quality). Let me know what kind of food your date wants and I can tell you where to go. Some of my suggestions were not necessarily prom friendly.

Another good place to look is Zagat.com

If you want steak then skip Bones and go for Highland Tap in the Highlands. Steaks are as good IMHO and the atmosphere is WAY better. Follow it up with desert from the Italian Gelato place up the street.

If you want mexican then Zocalo's in Midtown (is it still there?) or this other place over by the Fulton Cotton Mill (will find the name out for you).

If you want sushi go to Mali

If you want Thai go to Nan's over on 17th street, absolutely amazing.

It has become immensly popular, when I went a year or so ago it was $50 all you can eat.

Papadeaux off Windy Hill on I-75 is great seafood and cajun food.

I visit the Varsity at least once every time I'm in town. If you go and don't order something with chili, forget it.

If you are feeling adventurous you could do Iris in East Atlanta, or Wahoo in Oakhurst. Don't be afraid

All these threads about "the place to eat" in different cities are kinda dumb. Food is food, and people that spend hundreds of dollars on meals are getting the same thing that I get from my 1.00 Easy Mac or 25 cent ramen noodles, except they're wasting their money on something that fills their stomach just as well as a cheap burger or salad would. But, its your money you're throwing out the window, not mine.

My woman agrees with me. We rarely eat out anywhere except on lunch breaks, and that's just a quick cheap burger or whatnot. I'd rather waste my money on alcohol.
