Unfortunately, all too often, those can and have all occurred within the same incident.

A traffic stop for a bad taillight can lead to a chase because the driver is holding drugs or leaving the scene of a domestic, or may even have kidnapped a domestic partner where one or both are in a mental health crisis.

I guess you guys missed the key phrase, “more likely to face” because a high speed chase and a shootout are both very unlikely to happen. But I’m using statistics and not my feels.

Didn't Georgia police just fucking kill two people by performing a PIT maneuver on the highway? Which, I guess would be one way of making the case they need better training for that, but in reality it just shows how fucking stupid it is to be doing the high speed chases in the first place. Apparently that happened like a year ago.

Unfortunately you're just talking out of your ass. High speed police chases are not a common occurance and are fucking pointless and stupid and actually unfortunately all too often caused specifically by police escalating a situation rather then out of some random happenstance when performing a normal traffic stop. Just like we see with shootings, where cops pull some bullshit, intentionally escalate a situation so they can work their adrenaline junky testostergasm out.
