I'll ship you one if you can pay via NON-CREDIT CARD PAYPAL, $40 shipped USPS and I'll pay with CASH and include the original sales receipt (in case you wanted a refund or needed it for warranty).

Let me know.

Just picked one up in lower Manhattan. The salesman was gutsy enough to try to sell me a $35 extended warranty for a $30 item!

Glad everyone is enjoying the hot deal. I have been lurking for months. Only a couple hot deals posted. I bought mine at the Radio Shack at countryside mall in Clearwater. They had four, I bought two, and the girl who checked me out, took the other two for herself!!!! Good luck.

every universal remote should have>

play rew, etc.

arrow keys and enter

and skip forward, back, page up and page down. (this remote is missing skip forward, and back) at least it has page up and down.

Sure you can use some misc keys, that's what I do on my learning remote. but still that's a drag.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/ I use the Cinema 7 they cost about $20 on ebay.

This remote can't even replace the Cinema 7, not enough free buttons for skip, etc.

I'm picking up THREE in an undisclosed location (they are on hold anyway)
the undisclosed location has one floor model, but he said they won't budge on the price, even though they have no box for it.

If someone wants me to get the floor model for them and had NON-CC paypal + cost of S&H, let me know, but I can't be held responsible for it if it dont work or anything.

Suggest you contact me asap VIA NON-PM
instead use AIM: ionizer5 and even tho im away ill get it before i leave work
so stay on

Just checked at my local Rat Shack and they have two in stock for $29.95. Think I'm gonna pick one up on my way back from the gym tonight!

I would like to offer an alternative which is slightly more expensive but readily available. I found the Sony RM-VL1000 at Compgeeks (Link) for what I thought was a great price...$47.25. After using the standard Compgeeks 10% T***B******S coupon code, brings price down to $42.53 + S&H. I just rec'd mine yesterday...it seems like a classy toy. Very nice quality of build. It contols 12 devices, does codes, learning and macros. Also, it is uses a dual IR emitter, meaning that it has an extended range of operation. I tested it last night and found that it would still operate units a good 10 feet further than the standard original remotes that came with the components.

Only downside is that it is a typical Sony remote which means that it is not the most intuitive remote made. You must use the manual to figure out how to setup and use it to its maximum capabilities. Given the complexity of some remote operations, perhaps this cannot be avoided but still, just about any Sony remote I have ever used required a learning curve...this is one is no different.

I dont see how that one compares at all. Just looks like a regular 6 in 1 non-lcd with colorful buttons that are maybe even led buttons. It doesn't look configurable like an LCD and does not appear to be at all related, but then again maybe you were just pointing out something totally different.

why would you want a touch screen for a remote? seems like it's bound to break earlier than a regular one.

Yes...don't know anything about Replay but the "Component code numbers" insert list two codes for Replay DVR's: one for the "Panasonic" and other for the "Replay". Hope that helps.

I just bought one at the radio shack in Vancouver, WA

she didn't check Portland stores though... but I think you guys covered the portland stock above...

Thanks!

Picked one up Chicago (Irving/Kimble). There's plenty up North from what the manager said.

BTW: TranceNation - I've owned a Sony RM-AV2000 for 3 years now and it has worked flawlessy (of course it doesn't hurt if you are the only person using it).

I was gonna get the Radio shack 2116 model which supports programming via a serial cable (Jp1) via you own pc. There is also some very well written and supported software over at yahoo groups Here -- might need a yahoo id to access?

ANYONE HAVE any thought on which is more capable? I was really liking the 2116 because tactily it still did have physical buttons and a small LCD.

Which one is a better deal?

Thanks... Both models are 29.99

Reviews of the RS 2116 are here

Its hard to say if the 2116 model is any better, but it is very well supported and the GEEK factor would be very high from a programmable point of view. Although the LCD model is visually stunning in the dark. Decisions, decisions....
