Ionizer's FINAL REVIEW of the LCD that this thread is originally about (15-2107 i believe?) (not all the other ones people keep talking about):
Excellent buy at $30.
Why:
My cable box code worked excellent.
My Sony VCR code worked grea too.
My JVC DVD player works good, as far as I can tell.
MY Apex DVD player had only one code, but I have not tested it yet, since the original remote does not even have a "power" button, cuz u need to manually do that.
I learned the power button and other buttons from my NEC plasma remote.
I learned the cd-amfm-tape deck buttons from my sh1tty RCA mini-system.
I even made it learn the keys from my packerd bell IR remote for the PC...and I assume I could do the same for my hauppauge win-tv remote.
The remote is a little big, but I have a decent sized hand.
I programmed a macro to turn on my cable, plasma, vcr and go to a channel so I don't have the lame cablevision preview thing when I start up.
I programmed a macro to turn off all the above also (my plasma has two diff ones for power on or off)
I locked down my volume to the cable box, so it's always controlled.
Provided the batteries don't die in a month, this is a great deal and I recommend it if you have a little patience or eagerness to do a little upfront work for a lot of rewards.
Also, I assume that the memory remains in tact even when you remove the batteries (or replace them one by one) b/c re-coding everything would surely SUCK.
Again, if you can find it, and need one, get it, it's worth it. If you want to fool around with the JP1 b/c u want to learn every goddamn command on a remote that doesn't have a code, then go for it, but the JP1 isn't really necessary, imo.
The blue indiglo light is very bright, and automatically comes on if it detects the room is too dark. I almost wish it would go on all the time though (anyone know how it detects it, maybe I could throw a little thing over the sensor if it's somewhere I don't see?).
(PS: No i dont have any more, call your local radioshack and ask them to search other areas around you)
Thanks the OP for this great deal!
