OK, i haven't discovered the wheel here, but it amazes me, that all these years, in school books, university books etc, the best pictures about atomic particles are ...cartoons.
Not a single realistic picture or image, of what are we used to think those particles are (you know those spherical things, spinning around like the planets around the sun).
Another weird fact, is all those physicists back in history, who developed atomic theories, and got recognition, where their "proofs" were just some hand made drawings.
Is it just a very good approximation that serves us well, or just another moment in human history were we have paranoiac ideas like that we can create small suns in a room ,and harvest their energy (nuclear fusion) ?
