It's in the spirit of giving and for fun too. I've received far less than what I spent/gave over the last 2 years of participation . Of course, my likes/dislikes were kind of vague and didn't really ask for much. I didn't mind though. Felt happy that I share what I could afford. Darn shipping a USPS (Priority Mail) medium flat rate box cost almost $11 not counting the gifts inside.

I almost never use flat rate. If you have a scale, it's usually cheaper to ship it by weight (unless you're shipping bricks or something really heavy). The flat rate boxes are just a way for them to charge you more to ship the same thing.

There are no confirmation emails that go out. If you see "Thank you for signing up for Anandtech Secret Santa 2011" then that means we received your form. JCH13, we have received your form.
