Such a shame. I avoid the "other" AT server because it's usually full of complete retards. I haven't been on the boat in a while, simply because nobody is ever on it. Annnyhoo.
Ouch
I do my best to keep my server well administered, but due to admin ToS there are limits to what I can do about certain behaviors. It's difficult juggling wanting to keep the server full and becoming a complete admin nazi. It doesn't help that my other admins aren't particularly interested in helping to enforce rules. At any rate, my server will remain up through at least July 4th and most likely longer.
Stay in touch Jschmuck, I didn't play at Tugboat often but it was always a blast.

Not saying the admins are bad, when you guys notice something you guys are pretty much on top of it. I'm saying playstyle in general by most of the people that come by sucks. Usually one side is completely stacked while the other side (for some reason the side I usually end up on) has about 14 out of 16 players running snipers or something.
That plus I'm used to servers with less "restrictions" on creative gameplay.
I had an AWESOME time. It's funny though, in the end voice chat is what killed it for me. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal at first, but I simply lost interest without the communication and camaraderie. Really is too bad because the graphics are very nice and I like the gameplay. Looking back on it, a PC game w/o voip? Get fucking real...
Oh, and thanks for the efforts! I spent time with some great folks on AT, which I wouldn't have otherwise. So thanks!
It was a great run. Thanks so much for your efforts, JSchmuck. Playing BC2 wouldn't have been as much fun without your server and this forum. The Tugboat may have sunk, but it did not sail in vain...
And everyone should check out JSchmuck's new endeavor, a humor-based gaming site. It's in his sig. He and I text chatted in game about it a few weeks back...I'm sure I would have learned more had we been able to use voice chat! Darn you, DICE!
It was a blast, yeah? Glad I could help everyone have a good time
Right?! Stupid DICE. Great game - crappy everything else. Blargh.
How do you guys feel about TF2...? And maybe a TF2 server? The rebirth of Tugboat in a different body, that is. Been playing TF2 as a BC2 replacement and guess what? It's still a friggin blast
Fair enough. You can use !votescramble to try and shuffle the teams. I've been debating turning on a function that would shuffle teams at the end of each round, but that has it's own drawbacks.
Heh, one day I was on (our team was getting rolled map after map) Padinn tried to force a vote 3 times. Each time, the !no's won. Padinn I think ended up manually shuffling the teams at the end of the round, and I think half the server left after that.
Yeah, Padinn is me I tend to do that when it's ridiculously unbalanced. I don't like getting my ass handed to me.
