ATOT doctors...what's wrong with me?

History: Started with a headache behind my right eye about 3.5 weeks ago. Blurred my vision a little with what seems like pressure behind the eye. Gradually became worse and worse spreading across my forehead (pain) and on both sides of my eyes.

On Jan 3rd, went to doctor and initially, they thought that I had a bad sinus infection. Prescribed antibiotics and told me to come back if that didn't cure me.

10 days later, here I am. Visited doctor this morning and now have to see a neurologist.

Symptoms:

Headache - constant - currently behind right eye although has spread to middle and left eye on occasion as well as top of head. Ibuprofen is the only medication that brings relief. Tylenol nor Alieve take care of the pain.

Neck pain - middle back of neck.

Blurred vision - right eye - feel pressure there.

Nausea - not all the time.

Memory loss for the last year - started well before the headache. Just thought it was old age but I'm relatively young and suddenly, started forgetting things that I don't think I should forget.

The doctor did a test similar to a DUI test and stated that I have all of my movements with no signs of a neurological disorder.

Before I go to the neurologist, what does the ATOT Monday morning, armchair doctors think is wrong with me?

(I have a feeling that this thread isn't going to end well but I might get a laugh out of it).

Wow, the vision and nausea thing are worrisome.

Last time you snorted coke off her chest did you snort up the little gold cross or something?

It's undoubtedly due to the outsouricng of manufacturing jobs

Seriously though I hope you're ok. I would suspect an MRI is in your future

Have your blood sugar checked. Have you been thirsty or losing any weight? I get blurred vision and headaches when my blood sugar is too high.

Armchair doctor diagnosis (guesses) - You may have a nematode from eating undercooked pork lodged somewhere in your head. Pretty benign, just need to have it removed.

You may have blood clots from some other condition causing inflammation. Probably pretty serious. Both your pain and nausea can be caused by something irritating your brain stem.

Lastly, and I hope it's not for your sake, it could be a tumor. That would be pretty terrible.

Sounds like you have...

...nevermind, Boomer said it.

You have the beetus too? I always get low blood sugar and I feel like shit :/ only one time did I get blurred vision and that was when I almost died last summer from Ketoacidosis (acute renal issues, pancreas took. Came back on 3 months later).

No coke but I did snort the gold thing with the little glass beads. Would that cause this?

To Boomer....I'm not sure that I'm sane...at least at this point.

P.S. The Aflack guy is here tomorrow (day before the Neurologist appointment). Do you guys think I should pick up some coverage, lol?

No idea, but hope you feel better soon. Those symptoms sound pretty scary.

Keep us updated.

Probably a mild stroke. ^_^

Test your memory, mobility, legs and arms. Take care.

The symptoms of a mild stroke are the same as those of a major stroke.
  • Sudden numbness, weakness, or paralysis of your face, arm or leg- usually on one side of your body
  • Sudden difficulty speaking or understanding speech
  • Sudden blurred, double or decreased vision
  • Sudden dizziness, loss of balance or loss of coordination
  • Sudden, severe headache or unusual headache, which may or may not be accompanied by a stiff neck, facial pain, pain between your eyes, vomiting or altered consciousness
  • Confusion, or problems with memory

Could also be a persistent migraine/cluster type headache.

The differential diagnosis for those symptoms is broad. I'd expect you'll end up getting an MRI and/or CT scan of your head.

Possible explanations for your symptoms are, in descending order of likelihood:

Hyperthyroidism
Premature menopause
Hosting an alien parasite

Or, and I only include it for the sake of covering absolutely all bases: Sexual arousal.

Was about to say this, it pretty much hits the exact classification of chronic migraines. I would expect to follow with a MRI/CT and a bunch of questions on what you eat/lifestyle/stress.

Have you been outside of the country recently? Immunocompromised? History of alzheimers or dementia in your family?

<----- Med student, I don't know anything. (Disclaimer)

That's exactly what the doctor was saying right before I told her of the memory issues. From that point on, she tried the shot of medication first and after that, told me to go to the Neurologist.

Not surprised she did that. It still could be migraine/cluster type things. Headaches are weird in symptoms.

Check blood sugar for possible diabetes preliminary inset.
Check for a MRI for possible tumor.
Check blood pressure and/or possible blood flow issues in head region.

Are you tired a lot when you wake up?

If so, get a sleep study, and see if you may have sleep apnea, and how low your oxygen content drops while sleeping.

Not a medical student. Took 0 medical classes in college. but these are just my early guesses based on articles I have read, TV shows fakality, and my understanding of the human body through doctor and surgeon visits.

I've always thought you were asexual and socially awkward. Now I know!

Yikes. Good luck and please keep us updated. It doesn't sound like herpes or gonorrhea so I hope that provides some degree of relief. It could be pregnancy though. When I found out my wife was pregnant I had similar symptoms.

If it's cancer do you need a partner to cook meth with or do you already have someone lined up?
