The memory loss is fairly out of the ordinary and certainly warrants some further workup. Go along with the workup and hope it isn't anything too wild.

Cluster headaches are terrible but they are not deadly.

After reading a bit, it does sound alot like this. The doctor was going down that path until I mentioned the memory loss.

Meh, my short term memory has sucked for a few years now, not that is has ever really been all that great to begin with. Stress levels can make short term memory even worse. If I'm not feeling good I'll forget more details of stuff also. Could be the same thing here. I guess it depends on what and how much you are forgetting.

Now have a CT scan on Friday. Neurologist doesn't think it's neurological. Thinks there is something terribly wrong with my sinuses. Will proceed with treatment after the CT scan.
