So my mom sends me an email tonight - as it turns out someone in her school district has nominated her for one of those radio station contests. This particular one is for a "schoolyard hero" sort of deal - I don't really know the specifics but from what I'm told if she wins, she gets shopping spree to some local department stores.
You're looking at contestant number 10 (Scroll down a bit)

A bit of background so you're not just voting blind:
My mom has been a teacher for her entire professional career. First in New Jersey where she taught High School English and French for five years or so until we moved to California. When we moved, the only available opening in the small (at the time) town that we had moved for an English/French teacher were at the local community college teaching English as a Second Language to the (oddly large) Russian immigrant population in the desert.
As the area expanded, she started teaching English at high school a few towns over while going to school for her administrative degree; a program which she completed shortly thereafter. She moved on to being the Assistant Principal at the Middle School at Ft. Irwin NTC for a couple of years before moving on to the be Principal at my local (and rival, ironically enough) high school. She spent three years there before being offered a job in the next town over as an Asst. Superintendent.
I wouldn't be here shilling for her, mother or no, if I wasn't absolutely sure that every second she lived and breathed, it was for the students in her charge. This is a lady that, even now that she's an administrator, regularly drives students home, spots them lunch money if they forget it, wears ridiculously goofy shit on spirit day (once she came to pick me up from middle school in full football pads - I saw her at the front gate and got so embarrassed that I turned around and walked home. I was so angsty), stays up late to bake cookies for parents to eat during her weekly "Superintendent's cafe" meeting where parents can show up and have a snack and talk about their issues. And like the blurb says, she once made a bet with the football team that if they won the conference title, she would shave her head. And she did.
Anyhow, it'd mean a lot to her if she won a stupid little radio contest. The link is up above and I'd very much appreciate some votes for her.
Thanks guys
