ATOT... You've shared a lot with me over the past 12 years that I've been here. From great deals, amazing stories, and some really heartfelt advice has kept me around here. Today I'm going to ask you to share a little bit more with me. I'm running my first marathon in 10 days and my fundraising from friends and family has been pretty lackluster to say the least. I know you're probably asking why I'm raising money just to run. For those not wanting to click the link for the video and want the tl;dr of it, I'm running this marathon with Hope Water Project to help bring clean water to the Pokot tribe in Kenya. I'm not asking you to donate insane amounts of money, but a dollar or two to represent the bottled water you may buy that these people would be overjoyed with to have water that clean and clear.
Being that I've only just started running over the past 11 months, my goal is to finish the marathon between 4:30-5:00. I'm no Boston qualifier, but 26.2 miles in one stretch is an accomplishment no matter what time you finish. For those wanting to follow me on the Detroit Free Press Marathon's site for results, you will find me under bib number 5984. I'll be posting in this thread over the next 10 days and after the race with results and photos.

I want to say thank-you to allisolm, Harvey, TonyH, esquared, DrPizza, and Perknose for not shooting me down right from the get go, searching out information, reaching out to Hope Water Project, and looking out for the good of this community.
For those that don't have any extra money to donate or don't want to donate at all, I just ask that maybe you could share my link with someone else and that I appreciate your time.
Hope Water Project is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, a publicly supported organization

Update 1: These pictures show you the water that the Pokot travel miles for to drink, cook, even bath in. Obviously it is no where near what our standards are in which is my motivation to help fundraise for them.
