So mega lurker here and I see these threads come up from time to time so figured I'd give it a shot.

I teach networking and security at the high school level and one of my better students asked me today if I would vote for her in a chance to win a scholarship. So I am hoping I can do one better and actually help her win it. She told me she is down by 30 votes, so any will help. Thanks ATOT!

Just to confirm, this is the essay I'm voting for?

There are times during class where we are only using computers, either to give a presentation or make a research. But what happens if out of nowhere they stop working? My class has been in that situation a before and it feels good to be that person able to fix the problem. This is the main reason why I choose to get a degree in Computer Information Systems. Not everyone has that capability and patience to fix a computer but being that one person is my whole dream. The education I have obtained up to now has given me enough knowledge to get to the point where i am now but my goal is to go even further. Is the same knowledge that has gave me the thirst for enlightenment and more education that persuaded me to obtain a career. Computers are my passion and acquiring this degree will allow me to work with them for the rest of my life.

Pretty much this. You have to write a single paragraph for some school money and you puke up that word salad? Yeah...I'm sure she's a nice kid, but I don't want to promote mediocracy.

Based on your location though, I bet Fort Bliss would be more than willing to help her out with a scholarship.
