I just planted some hydrangeas and rhododendrons. They are doing pretty well. The Azaleas I planted next to them look fine as well. These other Orange plants.. Lillies of some kind... yeaaaah not doing well. They must not like the acidic soil around here.

My plants generally grow decently, but refuse to bloom. I'm guessing that I have a surplus of nitrogen...

I also refuse to buy artificial fertilizers. Any like household waste items which will make flowers bloom? Coffee grounds, etc?

Zucchini, kale, summer squash, little leaf cukes growing like crazy. Eggplant just started producing. All of my tomato plants have produced green tomatoes, hope they start ripening soon.

Not a thing yet. Started late. Didn't plant until almost mid June. Mid May would have been ideal for transplants.

def use coffee grounds, chicken feces, earth worm castings, find some soil in the forest (real rich musty smelling soil) equal parts, fill a gallon milk jug about a quarter of the way full with your mixture) fill the rest with tap water......shake well.... let the jug sit in the sun with the cap off for 3-5 days, put the cap on and shake it up real good once a day... (when it's green, it's ready)

best fertilizer you can get.

Doing well here on the fruit side of things. Just finished the harvest off 1 mango tree (probably got 50 mangoes off that one). Another one just starting to ripen up. Two starfruit trees are absolutely loaded and ripening up. We should start getting some Japanese plums (loquat) ripening soon. Maybe some passion fruit shortly thereafter. We've got about 35 fruit trees growing nicely.

Vegetables are somewhat a lost cause in the yard. Spiraling whitefly loves veggies and has attacked/killed anything we try to plant.

I've got peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers growing. I wish I had planted more peppers this year because they're doing very well. I'll grab some pics tomorrow morning.

Had stuffed jalapenos wrapped with bacon 2 weeks ago. Be ready for picking again this weekend. I plant giant jalapenos 4-5 inches long. I could stand them a little hotter though.

Tabascos coming along 2-3 weeks away. Heat makes up for the jalapenos.

Cucumbers are done. They did not do well this year only managed to pickle 8 quarts. Only planted 1 container (5 plants).

Had the first of the corn Monday. By far the sweetest corn I have ever had. I had 2 ears at dinner, normally I never eat more than one. This is the first time I tried corn. The seeds are from Burpee bred for containers only 2 ears per stalk. I plant 8 per container. From seed to table in 8 weeks! Have 2 more containers due in about 4 weeks and 1 more in 7 weeks. Next year will have 8 containers for this corn. Plant 2 containers every 2 weeks. Through end of August.

Had the first toe-matters last night!

Everything is in DIY Self Watering Containers. Made from 55 gallon plastic drums. Going to build more containers or buy some Earthboxs for next year.
