ATOT, meet Emily Kate, Stump's little princess

Currently she is only in early labour, however she has had high blood pressure for the last few days and the Doctor was talking about inducing her to speed things up...she is expected to give birth sometime tomorrow.

well here goes...not long now before I become a father.


*UPDATE* 10/11/2006

My Fiancee Michelle was induced at 9:30am 09/09/2006, the contractions progress very rapidily and at 4pm the doctor broke her membranes to speed things up so she would go into active labour.

Active labour commenced at approximatly 8pm and after 7 hrs of active labour she was readily for delivery, which took an astonishing 20 minutes(I'm told that is really good for a first time mother) and at exactly 2:34am 10/11/2006 my little Emily Kate was brought in to this world.

Is been now 12 hours or so since she was born and Michelee and Emily Kate are doing really well.

Emily Kate's specs are as follow's

Weight :2770grams (6lb 2oz)
length : 49cm

I'm at home, we've not long returned home from the hosipital, the doctor told that when the contractions get to 3 mins apart, bring her back.



This being her first child it could take hours before she reachs that stage.
we have a blood pressure machine thingy and have been told to keep an eye on her blood pressure, if it keeps going up we have to call him and he will make arrangements to induce her.

well, her contractions are now 15 mins apart, but she just took her blood pressure and it was 145/101 so we're off to the hosipital ASAP....so this is pretty much it.

Michelle can't breastfeed due to the medication that she is required to take for an illness that I won't discuss.

But Emily Kate doesn't seem to mind the bottle and has an awesome sucking reflex...which she seems to like to use in conjunction with her hands...

The birth was the most AWESOME experience I have ever wittness...I was holding back tears when I first saw little Emily arrive....and they even let me cut the umbilical cord which was super cool...however afterbirth is pretty gross looking, not that I paid much attention to that.
