Why does it not run on my system? I have a 1.4ghz duron, 768 megs of ddr, a GF3ti200, and LOADS of HD space. I got the latest drivers for everything. I am running win2k with SP2 and all the updates. Is there a patch I need? The game starts to load, then quit saying GTAIII generated some errors

Try some of the things listed in the faq, There are alot of problems with this game and most people are just gonna have to wait for the patch. (But one thing is the Warez version has alot of problems saving and loading, but we arent gona help those people here, cuz this game was worth every penny.)

How do I shoot people while I'm driving? The AK47 I was using outside of the car automatically switches to a machine gun when I get into a car so i assume that the machine gun can be used while driving. The manual says press left control to shoot while driving but i does nothing!

There are buttons to look left and right when you are driving... just press one of those buttons and fire... you should be able to do drive-by-shooting (which is also loads of fun!)

Sorry, it does NOT work for me. The problem with the game for me is when i go in the car, it starts to Lagg like theres no tommrow. Its Really jerky and renders the game unplayable. Here is my system specs... 1.6A@2.5Ghz Pentium 4 512MB DDR Ram (Crucial) Asus P4S333 (SiS645) Geforce 2 MX200 64MB Windows 2000 W/ SP2 Hercules Game Theater XP Sound Card Stuff that I Tried To Fix My Lagg Problems.. -Tried Different Audio Driver Settings In The game. -4X AGP & 256MB Texture Set in Bios. -I replaced the old d3d8.dll with the new one from the XP patch. -Running At 640x480 16Bit -Most Recent Detonator Drivers From www.nvidia.com -Most Recent Drivers For Game Theater XP If anyone else have suggestions that i can try out, I will be more then willing to test it. Thanks.....

I was browsing over at GTAforums.com & found out this little work around. With this work around, the game plays a little better, but way below my expectations with the game interms of graphics etc. It only worked at 640x480 16Bit. Once i bump anything up, my FPS suffers very badly. Heres the link. Text Let me know if it works for any of you guys.

Man, you have a video card slower than a TNT2 and you dare to shoot GTA3 on it. That's brave
Your only way to get better FPS is to upgrade to at least a GF2 GTS, GF3 if you can.

Haha i dont know about it being slower then a TNT2. UT & QUake3 runs fairly quick with this video card. RUnning At 1024x768 16bit in both games. I dont understand why i can't get Decent frame rates even at 800x600 16bit with GTA3.

Yes, but does that justify it to be slower then a TNT2 video card. Plus some people with super fast video cards are having loads of slow down/lagg problems.

Yes thats because there are alot of problems with it, wait for a patch and it will run nice on most system.

But it still will have alot of truoble running on a TNT2, those cards are begging to become outdated with newer games.

AND i would say a GF2mx200 is slower than a tnt2.

most MX cards are a pos counter part of the original card. IMO

BTW my freind has a 1.6 P4
256MB ram
and a GF2 MX 200

and it want run at 800x600x16 on his at all.

GTA 3 runs fine on a GF2 GTS. I'm running everything at full on it, and it runs with little to no lag.

My specs are

P3 933 MHZ
256 MB PC133 SDRAM
64 MB geforce 2 GTS

Where the heck do I find a Yardie Posse car?? I'm on this mission and he just says go north to newport and find a Yardie car...well i looked everywhere in Newport and didn't see anything w/ a blue arrow on top. What's a Yardie look like?

The yardie car will not have a blue arrow above it.

Look for a car that looks like the idaho, its a brownish color.

If you look in the interior it has fur looking seats. and a jamican person drives it.

Also when you get in it look at your control settings and see what controls the turrett/dodo up and down

and press it while in the Lobo and it will jump up and down (It has shocks )

I disabled trails, frame synch, the limiter, as well as Dynamic Acoustic Modeling.

Even playing on the lowest resolution at 16bit I get slow down.

1) Start the game, and load a saved file or start a new one
2) Press "ALT+Tab" to return to the desktop
3) Run the trainer executable (I think it works best if you dont put the trainer in the GTA3 directory)
4) Press appropriate key combos for desired cheats
5) WREAK HAVOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I'd mention how my weekend went. I ran GTA3 on my AMD 650 with a GF3 TI2 and it was running like crap. Tried it on my 1.2 AMD with a Radeon and it ran like crap.

Then, I rearranged things, and ran it on my 1.2 with the GF3 Ti2, and it ran like a champ. Set it to 1028x768x32 with max draw distance and it was running like a champ. Only played the first two missions, but no problems.

I am not trying to during a mission but instead when I am idle, and when trying to save it gives me error : save unsucessful

do you know what could possibly be the problem?
