Your drives are like my inactive drives.
Most of them are older, been a while since I bought any new drives. The newest ones are several years old other than the odd failure where I may have replaced a drive.

Ewww individual drives? At least do raid or a span or something. I had a drive fail the other day, was neat as I just got an alarm pop up on my monitoring app that I keep open if I don't need that screen for anything. Also got an alert on my phone. Went to swap the drives, start the rebuild and was on my way. I love raid for that, absolutely no downtime of any data.
Lulz flash boil.
Would have thought pierzo would have been more efficient.
Not flash boil but accelerated evaporation.
The "nebulizer" types you refer to based on ultrasonic evaporation are OK to produce small amounts of cold vapor but not practical in air handling units.
They require DI water or they will foul rather quickly due to minerals in the water. The lightboxes can run on tap water but their pans do require regular maintenance in the form of descaling.
We use steam but not for humidification. 99% of the time we need to remove moisture from the air.
