I planned to take it easy today. Slept in late until 10. Took the missus out to Istanbul Grill for lunch. This is an upscale place. We know better than to go out on Valentine's Day. LOL.

After we got home, I finally got the bug to do a long overdue maintenance on the missus' computer. Boy was it dirty. But this was not the primary task that was needed. Nope. Windows had taken yup all the free space on her SSD. I'm not sure why it does this. This is the second time I've encountered this. The first being on my file server.

Happens on ubutu as well xd

Hibernation was turned off. I was able to delete Windows updates backups as well as some system restore stuff. Freed up about 13.5GB of space. That will be enough for now. My wife didn't want a fresh install.

When I was in there I saw that the AMD APU (7850K) was taking ~3.5GB of ram. I forgot that the all-in-one did the shared memory thing. It uses DDR3 memory. I have plenty of that.

I also yanked out the guts and put it in a newer case. It was in an Antec P182 case from my first dual core box back in 2006. Man, that was the shiz. I took so much time on that build with the wiring, the fan controller, soldering, sleeving, heatshrink, etc. Now, I just chucked it out. Saved the IDE burner, 120mm Yate Loon fans x3, and the floppy. Chucked the rest. Put it all in a great shape P183 that I had from my i7 920 build. Now, she has working front USB ports. Lot of cleaning up.

Pretty sure you can limit ram for video.

I just discovered a stupid Linux trick. Middle mouse click on the task bar closes the application. FML. Accidentally moved mouse there when scrolling a web page. Just lost about 20 tabs worth of code. Thankfully all saved as I save as I type, but still have to browse through all the structure of folders to reopen everything again.

I keep forgetting the olympics are on, I have not even watched any of it yet. I don't have cable anymore and most of the streams are geoblocked which is retarded given it's an international event. I'm sure there are some that work but have not really tried that hard to find any.
