I really have to stop looking at real estate. 2000 sqft 50k house in a lower taxed area for sale right now. It's gutted, so it's down to the studs. Fresh slate basically to rebuild it very well. Not exactly my country living dream... BUT at that price I could totally fix it up and rent it out and make extra income. It's a 3-plex right now. I imagine I'd have to put a good 50k into it to finish it though, if more, and all that stuff would probably require permits and stuff if I plan to rent it out... so add another 50k for all the red tape stuff and a tax hike too (taxes go up by a percentage of the cost of the work each time you get a permit) Probably need special and expensive insurance too for renting out because of liability and all that stuff. Probably lot of code stuff I'm not thinking of too and lot of gotchas when it comes to renting out. So yeah not worth the hassle but it's a thought.

this is the first time i've posted on this forum for so so so many years. I heard a sound like NEF today...or maybe i misheard it...and i immediately thought of this forum and my time here. I joined this place 19 years ago and barely posted after my first few years i think. I'm amazed to find everything still here. This was my first internet forum experience and it rings a hell of a lot of memories.

I used to post here using a 33k modem ffs! Used to play the original rainbow 6 on the msn gaming zone around the same time. Now i'm on 350meg haha.

And i'm in my late 30's. And a father of two. And divorced.

and i've lost my hair.

But looking through the old threads from almost 20 years ago, i still remember a lot of names. Weird.

God damn nostalgia. Glad to see this place still rocking. wow.

I don't think I remember you... was probably not around.

Time sure flies though... I was probably in like high school when I joined this place. Think we had recently gotten ADSL in our city so I would have been on what was called high speed back then, but I sure do recall the dialup days too.

Also, sucks about the hair. I'm getting old myself at 32, going on 33. Always took my red hair for granted but it kinda came to my realization that I might eventually start to lose it. Hoping I am lucky enough to keep it for a long time.

I must spend too much time on Reddit because I got invited to be a moderator on one of the main subs. lol.

soo.... I went back on anti depressants. I can feel it creeping up on me, mostly anxiety at this point, it's very mild, but I figure I may as well try to nip it in the bud.

I think the clock change is what screws me up. I was kinda curious about that really, because last year it hit me around this time too. Takes a few days after the clock change to really set in but I have a feeling that's the trigger.

The actual depression part has not kicked in though, it's just really mild anxiety. Think I'll be fine, but figured I'd be proactive.

I'm just glad I don't have issues like this at the chronic level, I feel bad for those who do... if I get it for a few months at this time of year I can live with that. Just need to learn to treat it and fight it and know that I will get better.
