With hydro prices I try not to use it TOO much, but yeah mine has been on a lot too. Can't complain after that brutal winter though, especially the last 2-3 months of it.

I went out for a walk earlier after the storm we had and there was just something about that air, it was pure bliss. It had cooled off but it was still warm, and it just smelled so good. The freshness of all the trees and nature and stuff.

I'm finally done my drywall. I won't quit my day job, actually the first time I finish a job and I'm not proud of my work. I botched it, and there's even a few places where I missed the stud with the screws and it went right through the vapour barrier. That should technically be a redo where I take the sheet off and patch the hole but I said F it. The inside corners are the hardest. Next time I frame anything I will make sure to make the corners so there's the full width of a 2x4 on both sides.

Also realized my UPSes for my workstations were all messed up, like I had the management mixed up. I set it up properly but can't get it to work right, the PCs shut off way too early, and they shut down hard. I know it's not actually the UPS turning off, because it does not do it if the management is not plugged in. So for now I'll leave it unplugged. I really need to start on my home automation revamp, as one of the things will be to have isolated voltage sensors in all my UPSes that report back. I also want to add functionality to run commands based on value of sensors. That way I can manage the PC/server shutdowns centrally without having to screw around with UPS management software on each system. I will also be able to do all the VMs. Basically have VMs shut off first, then VM server, then NAS, send a delayed shutdown to the DNS server, then do firewall. Right now I don't even have any form of auto shutdown on any of my stuff. I just rely on the fact that I'll either be at home or at work so I can do it manually.

Kinda a botched job, going to have fun with plastering... lol. I was not going to bother plastering but the job is so terrible I need to hide that terrible workmanship. Definitely not quitting my day job.

Yeah the end of winter is weird, it tends to drag on and get very cold. Does not let go until the very end, then finally it turns to summer rather suddenly. Was in the bush about a week ago and there was snow. I would imagine it's melted by now though.

Southwest VA could have a crazy late snow in April/May on a cold snap. If it was followed by a hot spell, one might wish for A/C.. I did actually see snow flurries in Marion for Memorial day weekend one year.

I thought you were in Hampton Roads. When you said "Southwest VA" I was like whoa! But then you said Marion. I had an Aunt that lived in Marion for quite a while.

Crazy the rain we're getting. My gutters can't keep up. Though they are probably due for cleaning as well. There's a couple spots that also need to be fixed badly, because the drip edge is not even making the water go in them.

i managed to dodge most of the rain drops today.
Also, the 'quest for masks' has been accomplished. Masks become required tomorrow for all indoor not yer house places.

My mom managed to find a few masks somewhere, she gave me one. Kept it in the package but if some places here start requiring them then at least I'll have one.

When I went to check on the mail after work, there were large raindrops. That was cool. You didn't get that wet and it was coming out of one cloud and not the entire sky.

Ugh kdenlive is so freaking gltichy on this system. It worked better on my old one. It's just so choppy and unresponsive, making the workflow terrible. My entire computer locked up a while ago. It only has 8 gigs of ram, but come on, it should not be acting THAT bad. Going to order a 64GB kit when I have enough money. I want to at least get the credit line down to under 10k before I spend money on stuff I don't *really* need. Could be a few years it's at around 13k now.
